Chasing 179 to win, Rajasthan Royals lost opener Unmukt Chand in the third over when the team score was just just 17. He departed after scoring just 2 and became victim of Ojha. Captan Shane Watson also failed and fell to Ojha after scoring just 5. This saw the collapse of entire middle order as from 38/2 in 4.2 overs, Rajasthan Royals fell to 75/7 in 12 overs. Mumbai Indians spinners created such a web of spin bowling that Royals had no clue to it. Only Karun Nair managed to score a decent 48 but eventually got tricked by Harbhajan Singh. Lately some good hitting by Brad Hodge and James Faulkner helped Royals to get their score past 100. Needing 52 to win from last 2 overs, James Faulkner and Brad Hodge(40 runs off 30 balls) unleashed themselves hitting fours and sixes but it was a little late and eventually they managed to score 153/8 and thus lost the match by 25 runs.

Earlier Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat. The openers Michael Hussey and Lendl Simmons have Mumbai a flying start as the duo added 120 runs for the first wicket stand. Michael Hussey scored 56 in 39 balls (3×4, 2×6) where as Lendl Simons scored 62 in 51 balls (6×4, 2×6). Both of them got out in the 15th over but a solid platform was laid. Kieron Pollard and Rohit Shamra continued the fireworks as the duo helped Mumbai Indians post a total of 178/3 in 20 overs. Rohit Sharma played a caemo of 19 balls and scored 40 which included 3 fours and 4 sixes.

The poor run of Mumbai Indians continue and the defending champions are now almost out for the playoff contention as they suffered their 8th defeat today. Kolkata Knight Riders led by Robin Uthappa’s 52 ball 80 crushed Mumbai Indians by 6 wickets today.

Chasing 142 to win, Kolkata Knight Riders got off to a good start with captain Gautam Gambhir and Robin Uthappa adding 50 runs for the first wicket stand. Gambhir was the first to fall after scoring 14. Robin Uthappa stood firm on one end and single handily took the game away from Mumbai Indians. Manish Pandey chipped in with useful 14 but it was 52 ball 80 by Uthappa which sealed the game for KKR. After his departure, Yusuf Pathan scored 13 ball 20 to take his team to a stunning 6 wicket win.

Earlier Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and elected to field. Mumbai Indians once again failed to get a good start as they lost opener Chidhambaram Gautam when the team score was just 12. Lendl Simmons also failed and got out after scoring 12. Mumbai were struggling at 35/2 in 5.1 overs and needed Ambati Rayudu and captain Rohit Sharma to perform. The duo added 35 runs in 6.4 overs as Chawla got the wicket of Rayudu(33 off 27 balls). Captain Rohit Sharma and Corey Anderson took the team score past 100. Rohit completed his 50 but was soon bowled by Nariane for 51. Eventually Mumbai were able to post 141/5 in 20 overs.

Mumbai Indians registered an emphatic win over Sunrisers today as they beat them by 7 wickets to keep their hope alive for qualifying in the playoffs.

Chasing 158 to win Mumbai Indians lost their opener Chidhambaram Gautam in the second over but Lendl Simmons and Ambati Rayudu played sensational cricket and stunned Sunrisers Hyderbad. They added 130 runs in 14.3 overs and took their team very close to victory. Lendl Simmons got out after scoring 68 off 50 balls which included 5 fours and 4 sixes where as Ambati Rayudu scoerd 46 ball 68 with 7 fours and 2 sixes. After the duo fell, it was Rohit Sharma who scored 14 off 6 and Pollard 6 off 7 to take Mumbai to an emphatic 7 wicket win.

Earlier Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bat first. They got off to a slow start as openers could manage to score just 31 off 5 overs. Aaron Finch was the star for Sunrisers today as he scored 62 ball 68 and along with a cameo of 55 in 31 balls by David Warner helped Sunrisers post a total of 157/3 in 20 overs.
