Once again it will be Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad taking on each other after a thrilling encounter last Sunday. Sunrisers who defeated RCB in a Superover will be beaming with confidence and would be looking to make 3 wins out of 3 matches today.

Result – Rajasthan Royals won by 19 runs

Today in the 8th match of IPL 2013, Knight Riders won the toss and elected to field first. The dangerous Shane Watson fell after scoring just 5 runs which brought last match hero captain Rahul Dravid on crease. He along with Ajinkya Rahane then steadied the innings. Just when to duo looked settled, Bhatia bowled Dravid leaving Royals at 46/2 in 7.5 overs. Stuart Binny also got a start but failed to utilize it. The real star for Royals was Brad Hodge whose cameo of 46 off 31 balls which included 7 fours helped Royal post a total of 144/6 in 20 overs.

Chasing 145 to win, Kolkata Knight riders opener Gautam Gambhir scored some quick runs but in th third over Rahul Shukla strike twice and got the wickets of Manvinder Bisla and Jacques Kallis leaving KKR at 20/2 in 2.3 overs. Gambhir and Manoj Tiwary then tried to steady the innings but in the seventh over, twin strike by Siddharth Trivedi left KKR in tatters. Yusuf Pathan also lost his wicket in the very next over leaving KKR struggling at 44/5 in 7.3 overs. With half team back in pavilion and still needing another 101 to win, it was a real daunting task. Eoin Morgan did tried his best as he scored 51 off 38 balls but Royal bowlers did a splendid job and took wickets at regular intervals and finally bowled out KKR for 125 in 19 overs.

Result – Match Tied (Sunrisers Hyderabad win one-over eliminator)

Today in the 7th match of IPL 2013, Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and elected to bat first. Sunrisers bowlers could not have given the team a better start as they got rid of the most dangerous IPL player Chris Gayle for just 1. Tillakaratne Dilshan also got out soon leaving RCB at 22/2 in 3.4 overs. Captain Virat Kohli along with Moises Henriques steadied the RCB innings but the duo could not excel the run rate. After the fall of Kohli, RCB could not gain momentum as wickets started to fell at regular intervals. Finally RCB managed to post 130/8 in allotted 20 overs.

Chasing 131 to register their second win in two matches, Sunrisers Hyderabad lost Parthiv Patel in the second over. Soon Cameron White also got out leaving Sunrisers at 20/2 in 3.3 overs. Akshath Reddy and Hanuma Vihari then took the score to 48 at which Reddy got out leaving Sunrisers at 48/3 8.2 overs. Kumar Sangakkara then came to the center and scored 16 off 17balls before getting out and leaving Sunrisers at 81/4 in 13.4 overs. Hyderabad needed another 50 to win from 38 balls and though wickets kept falling from other end but Hanuma Vihari was firm on one end and his knock of 44 runs off 46 balls ensured that the match ended in a tie.

Super over was played to get the result. Sunrisers batted first and posted a total of 20 thanks to Cameron White’s 2 sixes in the super over. RCB had Gayle and Kohli in the center and despite hitting one six and four, RCB felt short and were able to score just 15 runs.

Today in the 6th match of IPL 2013, Pune Warriors won the toss and elected to bat first against Kings XI Punjab. Manish Pandey got out in the very first over reducing Pune to 1/1 in 1 over. Pune never ever recovered from this early jolt and wickets started to fell at regular intervals. Abhishek Nayar was the highest scorer with 25 off 26 balls and helped Pune post a small total of 99/9 in 20 overs. Every Kings XI Punjab bowler was successful today and they never allowed Pune batsmen to score easy runs.

Chasing 100 to register their first win in IPL 6, KXIP got off to a super fast start and scored 22 before Adam Gilchrist got out. But the tempo was maintained by Mandeep Singh and Manan Vohra as they raced past 50 in the 5th over. There was no looking back for Kings XI Punjab and Pune bowlers tried all variations but had little total to defend, they got the wicket of Mandeep but Manan Vohra and David Hussey then took KXIP to a comfortable 8 wickets win.
