Deccan Chargers got the worst possible start they could have imagined in the wildest dreams. They lost Gilchrist the very first ball and in the second over they lost Gibbs.Laxman also got out in the third over. These three batsmen failed to even open the account and got ducks. Deccan Chargers were reeling at 1/3 in 2.2 overs. It looked impossible for them to win the match but Smith showed some hope by playing a cameo of 49 runs in just 23 balls. After winning the toss, Mumbai Indians decided to bat first and with the opening pair of Sachin and Jayasurya hard hitting was always anticipated. But Tendulkar was out early and soon after Mumbai Indians lost Rahane. Duminy came into the center to join Jayasurya but this time Duminy too failed and Mumbai Indians were 23/3 in 5.2 overs. Bravo and Jayasurya then batted sensibly and took the score past 80 run mark. Both the batsmen completed half centuries and Bravo remained unbeaten till end. In 20 overs, Mumbai Indians could manage 149/4.

Royal Challengers Bangalore Innings
Chasing the target of 150, they got to a very good start. Though Royal Challengers Bangalore lost Jaffer when the team score was 24, but after then it was no looking back. Kallis and Uthapa punished every bowler and smashed bowlers to every corner of the ground. Both completed half centuries and made sure Royal Challengers Bangalore achieve the target comfortably. Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and decided to bat first. They got to a moderate start but Hodge played a superb innings to help Kolkata Knight Riders pose a total of 153/3 in 20 overs. Ganguly, Gayle, Wyk and McCullum also scored decent scores. Today was one of the rare days in IPL-2 that Kolkata Knight Riders looked confident and scored runs freely. Now its up to bowlers to defend this total.

Kings XI Punjab Innings
Chasing the target of 154, Sangakkara was the first wicket to fell in the very first over. This was not the start Preity Zinta’s team would have wanted. But after loosing the initial wicket, the batsmen played with caution and scored runs with ease. Kings XI Punjab scored ones and two’s and came near the target slowly and steadily. Jayawardene ended his IPL’s poor form and scored half century and remained unbeaten till end. The game got very thrilling as till the last over it was open for both teams. The nail bitting match finished with Kings XI scoring the winning runs on the last ball of the match. Delhi Daredevils won the toss and elected to field first.The decision didnt proved to be successful as Chennai Super Kings got to a very good start. Hayden and Vijay punished each bowler and scored freely. But both these batsmen got out in a very short span of time and this brough Raina to the crease. Continuing from where he left in the last innings, Raina blasted some quick runs along with Badrinath and took the score past 100. In an attempt to further increase the run rate, Chennai Super Kings batsmen lost wickets quickly but not before they posted a good total of 163/10 in 20 overs.

Delhi Daredevils Innings
Chasing a target of 164, the got a moderate start. But wickets falling at regular interval was the main problem for Delhi Daredevils.S Jakati was the bowler who wrecked through Delhi batting line and took 4 wickets. Though Warner and Karthik scored half centuries each but still in the last overs they could not get a batsmen who could smash the ball all around to clinch victory.Delhi Daredevils managed 145/8 in 20 overs.

So from 3/3 it looked Rajasthan Royals would loose this match but a sensational performance by Shilpa Shetty’s team proved once again that cricket results can not be anticipated. After the top order failure, it was the middle order which came to the team’s rescue and each batsmen played an important role in this victory. Once again when the run rate was increasing, Yusuf Pathan came to the center and played a cameo. His batting along with good performances from Shane Warne, Carseldine and Raut helped them defeat Deccan Chargers. Also some sloppy fielding by Deccan Chargers helped them win this match in the last over.
