Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to bat first. They got a good start and all the top order batsmen contributed. Quiney top scored with 51 runs followed by Jadega (42). Rajasthan Royals could not finish the innings in the manner they must had wanted. They lost 3 wickets in the last over and could score only 3 runs. Rajasthan Royals innings ended with 145/7 in 20 overs.

Mumbai Indians started off really badly but in the middle it looked they could win the match. The match was in total control of Mumbai Indians thanks to Tendulkar and Nayar. But in the last over Mumbai Indians threw away a very easy win. They needed just 4 runs in the last over with 3 wickets in hand. But they could not manage it and thus Rajasthan won the nail bitting match by 2 runs.

Match 42 – Mumbai Indians Beat Kings XI Punjab By 8 Wickets

Result – Mumbai Indians won by 8 wickets

Kings XI Punjab Innings
Kings XI Punjab won the toss and elected to bat first. The decision proved disastrous as they lost wickets right at the start and could never recover. Sohal played a good innings of 43 before he was out because of his own laziness. Apart from Sohal, Goel scored 20 runs and was the second highest run scorer for Kings XI Punjab. The batting collapsed and Kings XI Punjab could manage only 119/9 in 20 overs.

Mumbai Indians Innings
Chasing what we can call a low total as per IPL standards, Mumbai Indians lost the first wicket for just 5 runs. This initial break raised some hopes for Kings XI Punjab but Bravo was determined on one end and hammered all bowlers of Punjab. Mumbai Indians lost second wicket which brought Sachin Tendulkar to the center. Together with Bravo, Sachin played well and successfully chased the small total of set by Punjab.

Match 38 – Mumbai Indians Won Against Bangalore Royal Challengers By 16 Runs

Mumbai Indians Innings
Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat first. They lost the priced wicket of Sachin Tendulkar and it looked they would be in some trouble. But Jayasurya, Rahane and Duminy played sensational cricket and scored runs with ease. Jayasurya was the second and only wicket which fell and after that Rahane and Duminy cruised the score past 100 in just 14.4 overs. They both remained unbeaten till end and helped Mumbai Indians post a total of 157/2 in 20 overs.

Bangalore Royal Challengers Innings
Bangalore Royal Challengers started on a strong note but some quick wickets forced them to be more cautious and it lead to a drop in the run rate. When the strategy break was held after 10 overs, Bangalore Royal Challengers were struggling at 58/4. It needed a heroic innings from some one from Bangalore Royal Challengers but no one could play a match winning innings. Though Boucher raised some hopes but the run rate was way too high. In the end they could manage 141/7 and thus Mumbai Indians won the match by 16 runs.

Match 35 – Delhi Daredevils Beat Mumbai Indians By 7 Wickets

Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat first. They got to a very bad start and lost 2 wickets in the first over itself. Duminy the main stay of Mumbai Indians was also back to pavilion and it looked they were in real trouble. They had not yet recovered from earlier blows, Sachin was also back in pavilion. It looked Mumbai Indians would not even cross 100 run mark but some good batting by middle order helped them score 116/10 in 20 overs.

Delhi Daredevils Innings
Chasing a small total of 117, Delhi Daredevils got to a good start and scored runs with ease. Though they lost 2 quick wickets but AB De Villers was firm on other end and scored a fifty and remained unbeaten till end. Other batsmen also chipped in with useful contributions. Delhi Daredevils comfortably scored 118/3 and won the match.

Match 32 – Deccan Chargers Defeated Mumbai Indians By 19 Runs

Result – Deccan Chargers won by 19 runs

Deccan Chargers Innings
Deccan Chargers won the toss and elected to bat first. Gibbs was the first to go without even bothering the scorers. Suman and Gilchrist then played some good shots and helped Deccan Chargers to recover from early jolt. But in the 6th over Suman also got out after scoring 20 runs in 13 balls. Gilly and Sharma then took the score past 50. Gilchrist got out after scoring 25 in 29 balls ( 4*2, 6*1). Sharma (38 runs 36 balls 4*2, 6*1) Smith(16 runs 12 balls 4*1, 6*1) and Rao(28 runs 17 balls 4*2, 6*1) contributed and helped Deccan Chargers score 145/6 in 20 overs.

Mumbai Indians Innings
Chasing 146 for victory, Mumbai Indians lost Jayasurya and Sachin on consecutive balls and were reduced to7/2 in 2nd over. It was the excellent start for bowlers of Deccan Chargers but they could not capitalize on it as Shah and Duminy came to the rescue. Shah got out after scoring 29 runs in 19 balls ( 4*3, 6*1). Duminy scored his half century and it looked that Mumbai Indians are back in the game but a sudden fall of wickets helped won Deccan Chargers wint he match by 19 runs.
