Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat first. They lost the priced wicket of Sachin Tendulkar and it looked they would be in some trouble. But Jayasurya, Rahane and Duminy played sensational cricket and scored runs with ease. Jayasurya was the second and only wicket which fell and after that Rahane and Duminy cruised the score past 100 in just 14.4 overs. They both remained unbeaten till end and helped Mumbai Indians post a total of 157/2 in 20 overs.

It needed a heroic innings from some one from Bangalore Royal Challengers but no one could play a match winning innings. Though Boucher raised some hopes but the run rate was way too high. In the end they could manage 141/7 and thus Mumbai Indians won the match by 16 runs.
