Man of the match – Murali Vijay

Nothing seem to work for Mumbai as today they lost their fourth match in a row. Defending Champions Mumbai still have to open their account in points table.

Delhi cruised to a easy win today as their openers, Quinton de Kock and Murli Vijay added 34 runs for the first wicket stand. Even after Kock’s departure, Murli Vijay and JP Duminy continued the good work and played with ease to take their team closer to victory. Delhi had a slight scare when Duminy and Karthik falled in Malinga’s over but captain Pieterson and Kedar Jadhav made sure they don;t mess with the situation and eventually took their team a good 6 wicket win with 7 balls to spare.

Match 16-Mumbai indians-vs-Delhi daredevils

Earlier Mumbai won the toss and elected to bat first. They changed their batting order today as captain Rohit Sharma opened with Aditya Tare but the end result remained the same as he got out trying a suicidal run. He was run out by Shami when the team score was just 10. Soon Parnell striked and got the wicket of Aditya Tare leaving Mumbai at 17/2 in 3.2 overs. Corey Anderson and Ambati Rayudu then tried to stablise the innings but some poor shot selection lead to the fall of both of them within the span of 7 runs. Mumbai needed some one to stand up and deliver but their batsmen failed one after the another. Had Kieron Pollard not played sensibly for his 30 ball 33, Mumbai would have struggled to even reach 100. Finally they were able to post 125/6 in 20 overs.
