Lendl Simmons sensational 100 off 61 balls helped Mumbai Indians beat Kings XI Punjab today by 7 wickets.

Chasing 157 to win, Mumbai Indians openers Lendl Simmons and Michael Hussey added 68 runs in 7 overs for the first wicket stand. Lendl Simmons were at his devastating best today as he scored a brilliant 67 ball 100 and reminaed unbeaten till the end. He single handily took the match away from KXIP and helped Mumbai register a comprehensive win by 7 wickets

Earlier Mumnbai Indians won the toss and elected to field first. KXIP lost Virender Sehwag in the third over when the team score was just 23 but Manan Vohra and Shaun Marsh then helped KXIP recover from Sehwag’s wicket. Shaun Marsh scored 30 off 17 balls before falling for Santokie. This wicket changed the whole game as Mumbai capitalized on this fall and got quick wickets of Manan Vohra and Glenn Maxwell. KXIP were reduced to 93/4 in 11 overs. Captain George Bailey then bailed them out and scored a quick fire 39 and helped KXIP post a total of 156/8 in 20 overs.

Today in the 48th match of IPL 2014, Kings XI Punjab will take on Mumbai Indians at the famous PCA Mohali Stadium.

Kings XI Punjab who have been the most consistent team in this season with nine wins out of eleven will be hoping to keep their winning streak intact. KXIP have lost two matches so far and both against CSK, will be hoping to thrash Mumbai today to increase their points tally much more than CSK.

KXIP continued their winning momentum and defeated Delhi Daredevils by 4 wickets to maintain their top spot in points table.

Chasing 165 to win, got off to a flying start with Virender Sehwag and Manan Vohra adding 67 runs in 6.2 overs for the first wicket stand. Vohra was the first to fall after scoring 42 off 19 balls. Soon Sehwag to fell and Kings XI Punjab were placed at 84/2 in 7.5 overs. Once again everyone was glued screen to watch Glenn Maxwell and David Miller. But Delhi bowlers had prepared well against them and they got rid of them very quickly. KXIP were struggling at 94/4 in 9.5 overs. Wriddhiman Saha and Akshar Patel then took the score past 100 and just when the duo looked settled, Shami got rid of Saha but Akshar Patel played superbly and played a match winning innings of 42 to take his team to a 4 wicket win.

Earlier Kings XI Punjab won the toss and elected to field first. Delhi Daredevils lost opener Murli Vijay in the third over when the team score was just 13. Captain Kevin Pieterson and Dinesh Karthik then played well and added 71 runs in 8 overs to take the score to 84 when Pietersen was bowled out for 49. JP Duminy then combined well with Karthik and took the score to 140. Duminy fell in the 17th over and then Delhi Daredevils lost 4 quick wickets and could manage to score 164/7 in 20 overs.

Kings XI Punjab continued their dominance and registered an emphatic 6 wickets win today by chasing down 205 against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Chasing 206 to win, KXIP lost Sehwag in the very first over when the team score was just 4. But Manan Vohra and Wriddhiman Saha brought the team back on the run chase as the duo added 91 runs in 6.5 overs. Vohra scored 47 in 20 balls where as Saha scored 54 in 26 ball to give Sunrisers bowlers nightmares. Even after the wicket of Saha in the 8th over, Glenn Maxwell continued from where he left. He smashed 5 sixes in his 22 ball 43. David Miller also chipped in with useful 24 ball 24 but it was captain Bailey who in the end scored 35 in 19 balls to take his team to a scintillating 6 wicket win.

Earlier Kings XI Punjab won the toss and invited Sunrisers to bat first. The openers added 65 runs in 8 overs after which Finch got out after scoring 20. Captain Dhawan was the next to fall after scoring 45. Naman Ojha and David Warner then smashed KXIP bowlers and took the team score past 150 run mark. Warner was run out after scoring 44 in the 19th over but Ojha remained unbeaten on 36 ball 79 to help SRH post a total of 205/5 in 20 overs.
