Today in the 12th match of IPL, Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and elected to field first. They got the wicket of Manvinder Bisla in the very first over but captain Gambhir and Jacques Kallis then played sensibly and took the score past 50. Jacques Kallis was the next to fall after scoring 16. But captain Kohli and Chris Gayle then took control and took the team score to 75 before Virat Kohli got out after scoring 35 off 27 balls(4×4,2×6). But Gayle storm once again unleashed as he scored a brilliant 85 off 50 balls (4×4,9×6) and along with AB de Villiers took RCB to an emphatic 8 wicket win.

Today in the 8th match of IPL 2013, Knight Riders won the toss and elected to field first. The dangerous Shane Watson fell after scoring just 5 runs which brought last match hero captain Rahul Dravid on crease. He along with Ajinkya Rahane then steadied the innings. Just when to duo looked settled, Bhatia bowled Dravid leaving Royals at 46/2 in 7.5 overs. Stuart Binny also got a start but failed to utilize it. The real star for Royals was Brad Hodge whose cameo of 46 off 31 balls which included 7 fours helped Royal post a total of 144/6 in 20 overs.

Chasing 145 to win, Kolkata Knight riders opener Gautam Gambhir scored some quick runs but in th third over Rahul Shukla strike twice and got the wickets of Manvinder Bisla and Jacques Kallis leaving KKR at 20/2 in 2.3 overs. Gambhir and Manoj Tiwary then tried to steady the innings but in the seventh over, twin strike by Siddharth Trivedi left KKR in tatters. Yusuf Pathan also lost his wicket in the very next over leaving KKR struggling at 44/5 in 7.3 overs. With half team back in pavilion and still needing another 101 to win, it was a real daunting task. Eoin Morgan did tried his best as he scored 51 off 38 balls but Royal bowlers did a splendid job and took wickets at regular intervals and finally bowled out KKR for 125 in 19 overs.

In the first match of DLF IPL 2013, Kolkata Knight Riders registered a 6 wicket win over Delhi Daredevils at the Eden Gardens Stadium. KKR who earlier won the toss and elected to field first did a splendid job to restrict Delhi for a small 128/10. The lone fighter for Delhi was captain Mahela Jayawardene who scored a brilliant 62 off 55 balls(4×8, 6×1).

Chasing 129 to win, KKR lost Manvinder Bisla in the 2nd over but J Kallis and captain Gautam Gambhir then played sensibly and took the score past 50. Kallis was the next wicket to fell as he got out after scoring 23 runs. But Gambhir and Manoj Tiwary took the team close to the target but both fell when the team score was in nineties giving some ray of hope to Delhi. But E Morgan and Y Pathan then took their team to a comprehensive 6 wickets win.
