NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed the petition seeking to restrain a team owned by liquor baron Vijay Mallya from playing in the Indian Premier League under the banner of ‘The Royal Challengers’.
The petition filed by a Faridabad-based resident, Kishan Kumar Aggarwal, alleged that under the garb of ‘The Royal Challengers Bangalore Team’, the United Breweries Group was seeking to promote its brands of liquor.
In a thrilling match today in DLF – IPL, Chennai Super Kings defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 13 runs. Earlier Dhoni and Hussey played gem of an innings and took the score to 178 in 20 overs. Royal Challengers started the run chase with much confidence and Jaffer and Taylor both scored half centuries. They way the duo was batting it looked that Royal Challengers are upto a big fight today. But once the partnership was over, there was no batsmen who could take up the challenge. In the 15th match of DLF- IPL Chennai Super Kings won the toss and decided to bat first. They lost Mathew Hayden when the total was 22 but this did not deter the run rate and they were maintaining the run rate of more than 7 almost in the entire match. Parthiv Patel was the next to go when the score was 42 in 6.3 overs. Hussey yet again played a useful innings and got on to score 47 runs in 36 balls. Raina stroked some good shots in a short cameo of 28 runs in 17 balls. After Raina got out, the captain Mahinder Singh Dhoni came into the center and played some exquisite shots and scored 65 runs in 30 balls. He showed the enormous talent he has by hitting some good bowls to the fence. His shots looked so effortless but the balls was racing to the fence at ultra high speed. Dhoni got his 50 in just 24 balls and scored 24 runs in the 19th over.In the last 5 over 76 runs were scored which helped in increasing the run rate to 8.90
It was the heroic of Dhoni and Hussey that helped Chennai Super Kings to post a target of 179 runs in 20 overs. Now its upto the bowlers to restrict the Royal Challengers and thus continue the winning stride.

After loosing the initial matches in the DLF – Indian Premier League, today they come out with all preparation and routed Mumbai Indians by 10 wickets. Everybody was amazed to see how Deccan Chargers started the chase. Adam Gilchrist and VVS Laxman made a excellent start. Adam Gilchrist was the real star of the show by scoring 100 in just 42 balls (fastest in the IPL). In this 100, 10 sixes and 9 fours were scored at a strike rate of 227.08. Gilly as he is commonly called played with so much dominance that every bowler of Mumbai Indians was helpless.
