Match 6 – Delhi Daredevils Hold Rajasthan Royals

Delhi Daredevils won the toss and elected to field first in the 6th match of DLF IPL 2010. Delhi Daredevils bowlers made the most of their decision and restricted Rajasthan Royals to 141/6 in 20 overs.

Rajasthan Royals big gun Yusuf Pathan failed today and was out on a duck but a brilliant innings from Abhishek Jhunjhunwala (53 not out) made it possible for them to score 141

Rajasthan Royals lost wickets at regular interval and none of the top order batsmen could face the warth of Delhi Daredevils bowlers. Dirk Nannes struck in his very first over dismissing Swapnil Asnodkar and from there on the fall of wickets started. Rajasthan Royals got some respite with a 60-run fifth wicket partnership between Paras Dogra (29) and Jhunjhunwala.

Now its upto the bowlers of Rajasthan Royals to restrict Delhi Daredevils and save themself from a second defeat.

Match 6 DLF IPL 2010 – Rajasthan Royals vs Delhi Daredevils

Rajasthan Royals take on Delhi Daredevils today in the match number 6 of DLF IPL season 3. Delhi Daredevils are riding high on the win where as Rajasthan Royals need to pull the socks up if they wish to give a scare to Gambhir’s Delhi Daredevils. Rajasthan Royals squad looks somewhat deleted as they don’t have Shane Watson and Ravinder Jadega this time. They are depending largely on Yusuf Pathan but even Shane Warne knows cricket is a team game and can not be played individually.

But fans of Rajasthan Royals are sure that they will be back with a bang and would justify the slogan – “HALLA BOL”

When Chennai Super Kings came to chase the target, they needed a brilliant start but Deccan Chargers were in no mood to give them the start they needed. In the third over Vaas striked twice and broke the backbone of Chennai Super Kings They were reduced to 52/4 in 8th over. The responsibility was on the shoulders of Dhoni and Kemp and they did tried but Kemp lost the patience and was stumped by Gilchrist and Chennai Super Kings were reeling at 78/5 in 11 overs.

The pressure of run rate was mounting and Dhoni was the only hope for Chennai Super Kings. The team crossed 100 run mark in the 15th over and it looked a real daunting task ahead. But when Dhoni got out, it was a lost battle. Though Balaji showed some resistance but the asking rate was way too much for the lower order and they were able to make 159/9 in 20 overs.
