The stars for Chennai so far, Murli Vijay and Suresh Raina also failed today and left Chennai reeling at 29/3 in 4.5 overs. Deccan Chargers bowlers gave them no room to hit the ball and bowled a very tight line and length. MS Dhoni and S Badrinath then played cautiously and took the score to 81, at which Dhoni got out after scoring 30 runs off 32 balls. Albie Morkel (4 runs) also got out cheaply and Chennai were in some serious problem with 5 batsmen out for just 96 runs on board. A Srikkanth (24 runs)then played some shots and took the score to 137. Finally CSK just managed to score 142/7 in 20 overs and now has to rely on his bowlers to save this match for them.
Deccan Chargers bowlers did a splendid job and restricted Chennai Super Kings for just 142. Deccan needed 143 to win and go to finals they opened the batting with Gilchrist and Gibbs. They both started off really cautiously and scored just 19 runs in 5 overs. Gilly again failed today and was out after scoring just 15 runs. Deccan lost T Suman also in the same over and were reduced to 23/2 in 5.5 overs.
