Today in the 27th match of DLF IPL 2012, Pune Warriors got a superb 20 run victory over Delhi Daredevils thanks to superb all round performance by Saurav Ganguly and fine batting display by J Ryder and Smith.

Earlier, Delhi Daredevils won the toss and elected to field first. R Uthappa and J Ryder opened the innings for Pune but Delhi got their first breakthrough in the 4th over when they got the wicket of R Uthappa. S Ganguly was the next to come in and he along with J Ryder played superbly and the duo added 93 runs for the second wicket partnership. Ryder scored a brilliant 86 off 58 balls with 7 fours and 4 sixes while Ganguly scored 41 off 35 balls with five fours and a six. In the end overs, it was Smith’s cameo of 34 runs off 13 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes which helped Pune post a good total of 192/3 in 20 overs.

Chasing 193 to win, Delhi lost M Jayawardene in the third over leaving them at 12/1. But Virender Sehwag and last match star K Pietersen played some good cricket to take the team score to 87 before Pietersen got out after scoring 32 off 23 balls. Irfan Pathan was promoted up the order to tackle the rapidly increasing run rate but this did not worked in Delhi’s favor as he also got out after scoring just 15. V Sehwag was the next to get out after scoring a brilliant 57 off 32 balls. This wicket gave Pune a ray of hope to come back into the match and they made the most of it restricting Delhi to 172/7 in 20 overs and thus registering a thumping win.

In a thrilling match, CSK beat Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets on the very last ball of the innings, thanks to Faf du Plessis 52-ball 73.

Today in the 26th match of DLF IPL 2012, Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to bat first. Rahul Dravid and A Rahane gave them a good start and added 36 runs in 4.4 overs before Rahane got out. This lowered the run rate and soon Dravid also got out. But Owais Shah continued his good form and scored a brilliant 43 ball 52. He along with Menaria (36 off 34 balls) scored 92 runs for the third wicket partnership in just 65 balls which helped Rajasthan Royals post a modest total of 146/4 in 20 overs.

Chasing 147 for a desperate win, CSK got a superb start as S Badrinath and F du Plessis added 55 in 7.3 overs for the first wicket stand. S Badrinath was the first to got out but this did not deter CSK batsmen and they continued to march toward the target. Raina and F du Plessis added 61 runs for the second wicket partnership before F du Plessis and Raina got out in the 17th over 73 and 26 respectively. CSK needed 31 to win from 23 balls and it looked like a cake walk but some good bowling by Rajasthan Royals took the match to a thrilling finish. It was once again Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Jadeja who took their team to a seven wicket win on the last ball of the match.
