Result – Mumbai win by 92 runs
Mumbai Indians Innings
Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat first. The decision proved fruitful as both openers, Jayasurya and Sachin Tendulkar gave them the flying start. Both scored at will and punished even good balls to boundary and raised half centuries. Mumbai Indians lost the first wicket in form of Tendulkar when the team score was 127. Soon Harbhajan Singh who played some lusty shots was also sent back to pavilion. After this they lost some quick wickets but the middle order chipped in with some small but useful contributions to score a total of 187/6 in alloted 20 overs.
Kolkata Knight Riders Innings
Chasing a high total of 188, Kolkata Knight Riders never got the start they wished. They lost wickets at regular interval and none of the top order batsmen except Ganguly could score runs. Some resistance to Mumbai Indian bowlers was shown by both Dada (Ganguly) and Hodge but once they both were out, the middle and lower order fell like pile of cards. From 71/3 they were all out for 95. Thus Mumbai win by 92 runs and Knight Riders lost yet another match.
