Kings XI Punjab continued their winning momentum and won their 5 match in a row today to keep their first position on points table intact.

Needing 125 to win, Pujara and Sehwag added 22 for the first wicket stand before Pujara got out after scoring just 10. Soon Saha and the highest run scorer in IPL Maxwell got out cheaply leaving KXIP struggling at 40/3 in 7.1 overs. Sehwag and Miller then steadied the innings and took their team closer to victory. But a twin strike by Chahal in the 13th over opened the match as both Miller and Sehwag got out with the team score reading 88/5 in 13 overs. Captain Bailey(16) and R Dhawan(23) then played sensibly and made sure KXIP register their 5 straight win by defeating RCB who have lost their 3 matches in a row now.

Earlier KXIP won the toss and elected to field first. Royal Challengers Banglore changed their playing eleven today and included Chris Gayle. Gayle and Parthiv Patel opened the innings and Gayle scored 21 runs in the very first over of the innings. Just when it looked that Gayle storm will wipe away KXIP, Sandeep Sharma bowled Gayle out. This wicket triggered the fall of wickets as RCB slipped from 21/1 to 26/4. They needed some one to play a big innings so that they can post a decent total. Rajasthan Royals today bowled out Royal Challengers Bangalore for just 70 in 15 overs and won the match by 6 wickets. It was the third lowest total in the history of IPL. The fall of RCB started in the very first over as they lost both the openers in the very first over. All hopes were on Yuvraj and Kohli but twin strike in the third over in the form of Yuvraj and AB de Villers left RCB struggling at 5/4 in 5.2 overs. Virat Kohli was the leading scorer with 21 for RCB and only two other batsmen could touch double digit figures.
