Earlier, Rajasthan Royals won the toss and decided to bat first. R Dravid and A Rahane gave them a super start with 62 run first wicket partnership. Rahul Dravid got out after scoring 25 off 32 balls but A Rahane was the star for Rajasthan Royals today as he scored a brilliant 103 off just 60 balls which included 12 fours and 5 sixes. Rahane created an IPL record of six consecutive fours in the 14th over. His partner Owais Shah also smashed Banglore bowlers as he completed his half-century off just 19 balls. Some very big overs in the innings propelled Rajasthan Royals to a handsome total of 195/2 in 20 overs.
Chasing 196 to win, RCB needed a flying start and the duo of M Agarwal and C Gayle added 42 runs for the first wicket partnership in 4.4 overs. M Agarwal got out after scoring 34 off 21 balls but Gayle failed to impress as he was out after scoring just 8.The 5th over from Pankaj Singh changed the tide towards Rajasthan Royals favor as both openers got out in the same over. From 42/0 in 4 overs, RCB were 42/2 in 5 overs. V Kohli and AB de Villiers had huge responsibility on their shoulders but AB de Villiers was the bowled by Siddharth Trivedi and RCB were reduced to 69/3 in 8.4 overs. Needing another 125 to win from 11 overs, RCB had a real tough task in hand and the team was hoping on Virat Kohli and S Tiwary but Siddharth Trivedi bowled Virat Kohli when the team score was 78. Tiwary and M Kaif then took the team score past 100 but Siddharth Trivedi struck twice in the 15th over and left RCB at 103/6 in 14.4 overs. With two quick wickets, victory looked a distant dream and finally RCB were all out for 136 runs in 19.5 overs thereby losing the match by 59 runs.
