The most underestimated side in the Indian Premier League – Rajasthan Royals have done it again. In the 12 th match of the league, they first restricted Royal Challengers to a small target and then chased the target with atmost ease. Warne’s lead team was in control of the match from the toss stage and it never looked they could loose today’s match. First the bowlers did a splendid job and then the batsmen also played excellent cricket to assure the win. Watson scored 61 (n.o) and Smith scored 49 and these two innings were sufficient to finish the job and make them victorious.

The underdogs of the league have again proved that they are into some serious cricket and are up for the challenge in the upcoming days.

Royal Challengers Bangalore lost the toss and then were asked to bat first. Wicket falling was a regular phenomenon starting from the very first over. Dravid got out for 0 and then Chanderpaul, Kallis, Kohli and others also fell cheaply. What was supposed to be the most competitive match in DLF – IPL ended with just a one sided match, thanks to the bowlers of Chennai Super Kings who never gave any chance to the Knight Riders batsmen to score and thus restricted them to a total of 147. When Chennai Super Kings batsmen came to chase the target,they played with much ease and scored freely. The opening wicket partnership of 66 runs was the highest till date in Indian Premier League.

After the fall of Parthiv Patel, MS Dhoni came to the center and played some exquisite hand on the other end Hayden was stroking the ball right from the center of the bat and got on to score 71 runs which included 3 sixes. The 17th over was bowled by Murli Karthik and it was in this over that Chennai Super Kings won the match by a splendid six by Mahinder Singh Dhoni.

Without Shahrukh Khan’s presence in the ground it looked like no Knight Rider batsmen wish to play. They won the toss and decided to bat first but the decision was not fruitful as they started to lose wickets from the very beginning. Mc Cullam striked some good shots but once he was out all the batsmen just fell to the brilliant bowling of Chennai Super Kings. Laxmi Ratan Shukla was the only one who played some good shots and scored 42 runs which were the highest in Kolkata Knight Riders innings.

Knight Riders scored a total of 147 runs in 20 overs and it looked a very easy target as the pitch is very flat and it looks a target of 180 was also achievable here.
