What was supposed to be the most competitive match in DLF – IPL ended with just a one sided match, thanks to the bowlers of Chennai Super Kings who never gave any chance to the Knight Riders batsmen to score and thus restricted them to a total of 147. When Chennai Super Kings batsmen came to chase the target, they played with much ease and scored freely. The opening wicket partnership of 66 runs was the highest till date in Indian Premier League.
After the fall of Parthiv Patel, MS Dhoni came to the center and played some exquisite hand on the other end Hayden was stroking the ball right from the center of the bat and got on to score 71 runs which included 3 sixes. The 17th over was bowled by Murli Karthik and it was in this over that Chennai Super Kings won the match by a splendid six by Mahinder Singh Dhoni.
