Match 49 – Deccan Chargers Lost By 1 Run Against Kings XI Punjab

Deccan Chargers won the toss and invited Kings XI Punjab to bat first. Kings XI Punjab lost some early wickets and at one stage they were 26/3. The Yuvraj Singh and Sangakkara played well and helped the team to get out of the trouble. Sangakkara was the man for Kings XI Punjab as he scored a half century and was the highest scorer for Kings XI Punjab. It was his innings which helped Kings XI Punjab to post a total of 134/7 in 20 overs

Deccan Chargers Innings
Deccan Chargers started off relatively well but in the middle orders they lost some quick wickets and thus the match was taken to a nail bitting finish. At one stage when Gilchrist and Gibbs were batting it looked Deccan Chargers will easily win the match. But some good bowling by Punjab brought them back in the match. The match was sensationally poised in the last over as Deccan Chargers needed 11 off it and had 4 wickets in hand. Rohit Sharma who was in a tremendous form got out to Pathan. Pathan bowled a good over and thus Kings XI Punjab won the match by 1 run.

Match 48 – Deccan Chargers Won By 6 Wickets Against Kolkata Knight Riders

Kolkata Knight Riders lost the toss and were sent to bat first. They got to a good start and all the top order batsmen contributed well to the team score. Hodge was the highest run scorer with 48 runs followed by Hussey 43. Kolkata Knight Riders batsmen put up a competitive score and its now upto bowlers to defend it.

Deccan Chargers pulled off a stunning victory today against Knight Riders. It looks nothing is going well for Kolkata and it will take a divine intervention which would make them win. Today’s match was open for both teams as Deccan Chargers got to a good start. The batsmen played well and set up the stage for a nail bitting finish. In the last over it looked Deccan Chargers will loose but Rohit Sharma turned the tables by hitting sixes and making sure Deccan Chargers win by 6 wickets.

Match 47 – Chennai Super Kings Won By 7 Wickets Against Mumbai Indians

Result – Chennai Super Kings won by 7 wickets.

Mumbai Indians Innings
Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat first. Bravo was the batsmen from Mumbai Indians who could not score in double digits . All other batsmen contributed to the team score and with the collective effort, Mumbai Indians could manage 147/5 in 20 overs. Duminy continued his excellent form in IPL-2 and scored yet another half century. He was the backbone of Mumbai Indians today and scored 62 runs. Now its upto Mumbai Indians bowlers to defend this moderate total.

Chennai Super Kings Innings
Chasing the target of 148, Chennai Super Kings lost the first wicket in the very first over and this early wicket gave Mumbai Indians some confidence. But Hayden was in no mood to give away the victory to Mumbai Indians. He played really well though it was not his natural aggressive stroke play but still he damaged the hope of Mumbai Indians. Raina and Badrinath also contributed but it was Hayden’s heroics which gave Chennai Super Kings a easy victory. Dhoni also supported really well and both Dhoni and Hayden made sure no more wickets were lost and thus Chennai Super Kings won the match by 7 wickets.

Kings XI Punjab won the toss and elected to field first. The decision proved very fruitful as Delhi Daredevils kept loosing wickets at regular interval. Not even a single batsmen could hold the crease and resist the bowling of Kings XI Punjab. Some hope was raised by Manhas and Karthik but they could just not get going and thus Delhi Daredevils could manage only 120/9 in alloted 20 overs.

Kings XI Punjab Innings
Chasing a small total in a must win match, Punjab’s Kings XI lost Katich when the team score was just 20. Then soon two more wickets fell and Kings XI Punjab were reduced to 35/3 and it looked the game is open again for both teams. But Yuvraj Singh and Sangakkara made sure that Kings XI Punjab win the game and keep alive the chances to make it in semifinals. Though the match witnessed some sensational moments in which it looked Delhi Daredevils will strike back but Kings XI Punjab played really well. In the end it was Pathan who shattered all hope of Delhi Daredevils and thus Kings XI Punjab won the match by 6 wickets.

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to bat first. They got a good start and all the top order batsmen contributed. Quiney top scored with 51 runs followed by Jadega (42). Rajasthan Royals could not finish the innings in the manner they must had wanted. They lost 3 wickets in the last over and could score only 3 runs. Rajasthan Royals innings ended with 145/7 in 20 overs.

But they could not manage it and thus Rajasthan won the nail bitting match by 2 runs.
