Kolkata Knight Riders Innings:
After winning the toss, Kolkata Knight Riders decided to bat first, they got to a good start as both openers Chris Gayle and Ganguly played off well. Chris Gayle, playing his first match in IPL 3, scored a 50 off 47 balls. Kolkata Knight Riders completed 50 runs in 7.1 overs. After 10 overs, KKR had reached 67 without any loss of wickets. Saurav Ganguly scored 31, and was out bold by Harbhajan Singh. Chris Gayle was out lbw by Zaheer Khan, he scored 75 off 60 balls. Owais Shah scored 31 off 23 balls. Kolkata Knight Riders finished their inning scoring 155 for a loss of 3 wickets.

Mumbai Indians Innings
Chasing the target of 156, Mumbai Indians had a great start as they completed 50 runs in just 4.2 overs with S Dhawan scoring 23 off 21 balls. It was Sachin Tendulkar who played a brilliant innings and made sure Mumbai win this crucial encounter. Mumbai Indians completed 100 runs in 12.3 overs. Saurabh Tiwary scored 30 runs off 24 balls. S Tendulkar made 70 runs off just 47 balls. The master was in full flow and dashed the hopes of KKR to get back on the victory path. Mumbai Indians scored 156 for a loss of 3 wickets and 9 balls remaining.

Clash Between Dada and Master Blaster
Today will be a clash between two of the most prolific cricketers of India, Sachin Tendulkar and Saurav Ganguly. Mumbai Indians have lost the last match and thus would be looking to get the rhythm back, where as Kolkata Knight Riders who started off well in this season of IPL, have now being on the losing track. Both the teams will look forward in this match to get the momentum and get back on the winning track.

Mumbai Indians will be playing at home ground and would be hot favorites but one can not rule Ganguly out as he is like a Phoenix who rises from the ashes.

Match 16 Kings XI Punjab Win A Thriller Against Chennai Super Kings In Superover

Match: 16th T20, IPL3
Venue: Chennai
Date: March 21, 2010

Result:Kings XI Punjab Won

Kings XI Punjab Innings
Desperate to win and open an account in the points table, Kings XI Punjab today opened the batting with Irfan Pathan. Though this played off well as he scored 39 runs and gave some platform to other batsmen. But the poor run of others continue and Kings XI Punjab could never find a partnership which could get them to a high score. Yuvraj Singh was the top scorer with 43. Kings XI Punjab lost some quick wickets in the last overs and thus could not score at fast pace. In the end of 20 overs they could only score 136/8 which looks like a real easy target seeing the current form of Chennai Super Kings.

Chennai Super Kings Innings
Chennai Super Kings were chasing 137 to win and they got to a flying start with Parthiv Patel and Hayden both hammering the bowlers of Punjab. They took the team score past 50 and then when the score was 65, Powar bowled Hayden. It was here that the match was opened and Kings XI could see a light of hope. Chennai Super Kings lost some quick wickets and even the run rate was dropped. What looked like an easy victory was infact turned to a hard fought match. Chennai Super Kings were 126/5 in 18 overs and needed 11 runs in last 2 overs. A superb second last over made this one sided match a real thriller as Chennai Super Kings needed 10 runs in last over and had 4 wickets in hand. 3 runs were needed from the last 3 balls and Irfan Pathan bowled a wonderful spell to draw the match. Score was tied at 136/7 in 20 overs and the result was drawn with the help of Super Over!

Super over decided the fate of match
Chennai Super Kings batted first in the Super Over. Hayden, Raina and Morkel batted for them. They could score only 9 runs in that over. Kings XI Punjab needed 10 to win in that super over and they did that in style. Mahela Jayawardene scored a six on the first ball and got out at the next ball. But Yuvraj Singh scored a four to ensure the win for Kings XI Punjab.

Kings XI Punjab won the first match of this season and have finally opened the account in points tally.

Match 15 Deccan Chargers Won By 10 Runs Against Delhi Daredevils

Result: Deccan Chargers Won By 10 Runs

Deccan Chargers Innings
Deccan Chargers won the toss and elected to bat first. They lost the wicket of Mohnish Mishra in the very first over but then Gibbs and Gilchrist steadied the innings.All the top order batsmen contributed with the bat and helped Deccan Chargers to score a total of 171/6. Rohit Sharma was the top scorer with 45 runs. T Suman also played a useful cameo in the end.

Delhi Daredevils Innings
Chasing the total of 172 to win and break the jinx of consecutive loss. Delhi Daredevils got to a real bad start as they lost the superstar Sehwag out in the 4th over. Warner on the other hand played a superb innings and scored a 50. AB villers and Karthik also chipped in with useful innings. But Delhi Daredevils lost some quick wickets and run rate was also mounting on them. Delhi Daredevils were 135/5 in 17 overs, Karthik played a captain’s knock and scored 17 runs in that over and changed the equation to – 20 runs needed in the last 2 overs. Symonds bowled the 19th over and got the priced wicket of Karthik and A Mishra and the game was again open for both teams. It was this over which changed the entire complexion of the game. Delhi Daredevils required 14 runs off the last over and it was too much for them. Wickets fell like pile of cards and Delhi Daredevils were restricted to 161/9 for and thus lost the match by 10 runs

Chennai Super Kings vs Kings XI Punjab Match 16 Preview

Venue: MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai

Chennai Super Kings will take on Kings XI Punjab today at Chepauk, Chennai. Kings XI Punjab have had a poor season so far and would like to get the act together and open the account in point’s table. Kings XI Punjab have lost all the three games played so far and would be under immense pressure to perform where as Chennai Super Kings have won 2 out of the last 3 games and are looking much superior than Kings XI Punjab.

The main concern for Kings XI Punjab will be the poor form of Yuvraj Singh and Kumara Sangakkara. On the other hand Chennai Super Kings are also playing without MS Dhoni, but in the last match they won without Dhoni too. This has raised the team morale and thus Chennai Super Kings will go full barrel on Kings XI Punjab.

Kings XI need to overcome the batting collapse disorder if they dream about making in top 4.
