After wining the toss, Royal Challengers invited Kolkata Knight Riders to bat. Kolkata Knight Riders opened the innings with Saurav Ganguly and Christ Gayle. The duo again gave them a perfect start and scored 52 runs for first wicket partnership. After Gayle’ wicket, Ganguly and McCullum took on the RCB bowlers and scored 100 in the 11th over. Ganguly was soon out for 33 and this changed the whole game. The priced wicket of Ganguly opened the opportunity door for Royal Challengers and they came back very strongly. Kolkata Knight Riders middle order failed miserably and from 103/2 they were 155/9. The last 5 overs were totally in favor of Royal Challengers and they might even be responsible for winning or loosing. Chasing 161 to win and move further close to the place in semi’s, Royal Challengers lost Kallis earlier but S Sriram and R Dravid then played well to take the team score past 50. Sriram was the next to get out after scoring 27 when the team score was 83/2 in 11.4 overs. Dravid scored a good 52 and was out after taking the team score to 102 in 13.2 overs. Royal Challengers needed 51 to win in last 6 overs and had 7 wickets in hand. Uthappa then unleashed and scored quick fire 52 runs off just 22 balls to take Royal Challangers to a 7 wickets victory.

After winning the toss, Chennai Super Kings decided to bat first today in the 42nd match of DLF IPL 2010. Hayden and M Vijay gave them a quick start and took the score to 41 before Hayden got out in 4.4 overs. Soon Vijay was also run out leaving Chennai Super Kings 64/2 in 7.5 overs. Chennai Super Kings had got a decent start but they could not capitalize on it. Once the openers were out, wickets started to fell at regular interval of time. Suresh Raina was the only batsmen who offered some resistance and scored a well deserved 52. None of the other middle order batsmen could even reach two figure score and thus Chennai Super Kings eventually could post only 138/8 in 20 overs.

Deccan Charger’s bowler did a splendid job in restricting Chennai Super Kings to 138 and now it was up to batsmen to win this match for them. The openers played cautiously but in the 5th over of innings, Deccan Chargers lost both the openers and were reduced to 35/2. T Suman then played responsibily and along with Rohit Sharma took the score to 61 when Sharma got out. Symonds and T Suman then steadied the innings and took score past 100. T Suman scored a brilliant 55 and laid a platform for Deccan’s victory. Finally Symonds and Dwayne Smith took the team to victory in the last over. This win over Chennai Super Kings by 6 wickets have now again opened the semi’s place for all.
