Date – April 20, 2012
Venue – Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali, Chandigarh
Toss – Royal Challengers Bangalore elected to field

Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers brilliant half-centuries gave Royal Challengers Bangalore an easy five-wicket win against Kings XI Punjab in the 25th match of DLF IPL 2012.

Today in the 25th match of DLF IPL 2012, RCB won the toss and elected to field first. Adam Gilchrist was not in playing eleven due to injury the this was a big setback for KXIP. The openers Nitin Saini and Paul Valthaty failed to give a good start to KXIP as both of them were back in pavilion when the team score was just 27 in 5 overs. Once again it was Shaun Marsh 26 runs off 17 balls who steadied the innings followed by a superb 41 runs off 34 balls by stand-in captain David Hussey. KXIP was able to post a decent total as some good hitting by Azhar Mahmood (33 from 14 balls) helped them post a total of 163/8 in 20 overs.

Chasing 164 to win, RCB got off to the worst start as KXIP pacer Parvinder Awana ripped apart the top order by taking three quick wickets and leaving RCB struggling at 25/3 in 5.1 overs. But the star for RCB was Gayle who smashed 87 from 56 balls and once again white washed opponents dreams of winning. He was brilliantly supported by AB de Villiers who scored 52 from 39.

Venue – Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali, Chandigarh

In the 25th match of DLF IPL 2012, Royal Challengers Bangalore will take on Kings XI Punjab at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium. Both teams are at the lower half of the points table as they have won 2 of their five matches played so far. Kings XI Punjab would wish to forget the humiliating defeat which they suffered at the hands of KKR in the last match and thus will look for a win to boost the morale of the team. On the other hand, RCB won the last match against Pune Warriors and will be looking to continue with the momentum

Kings XI Punjab are suffering from flop show by their batsmen and would be hoping that their batsmen come in form as soon as possible. The top order has failed to give a flying start and whether Gilchrist will play today’s match is still a mystery.

RCB are relying on Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers to bail their team out of problem and will be hoping that other stars like Virat Kohli soon join the party and the team can improve its point’s tally.
