Chennai Super Kings Beat Pune Warriors By 37 Runs

Match 42 IPL 2013 –Pune Warriors vs Chennai Super Kings
Date – Tue Apr 30
Time – 8:00 pm i.e 14:30 GMT | 20:00 IST
Venue – Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium, Pune
Toss – Chennai Super Kings elected to bat
Result – Chennai Super Kings won by 37 runs.

Today in the 42nd match of Pepsi IPL 2013, Chennai Super Kings won the toss and elected to bat first. Top scorer for Chennai Michael Hussey failed in this match and was bowled by Richardson when the team score was just 6. Wriddhiman Saha also fell cheaply leaving Chennai struggling at 28/2 in 5.4 overs. Suresh Raina and Subramaniam Badrinath then steadied the innings, Suresh Raina smashed 63 off 50 balls which included 5 fours and 1 six. A cameo of 45 in 16 balls (4×4,3×6) by MS Dhoni helped Chennai post a total of 164/3 in 20 overs.

Chasing 165 to win, man in form for Pune, Aaron Finch and Robin Uthappa opened the innings. The duo looked settled when suddenly the break through came for CSK as A Finch got out. This wicket triggered the fall of wickets as from 26/1 in 2.5 overs, Pune slipped to 29/3 in 3.2 overs. Yuvraj Singh and Steven Smith then had the responsibility to lead Pune recovery but Yuvraj Singh failed as he got out after scoring just 5. Steven Smith was the lone warrior as he top scored with 35 off 39 balls. Two run outs added to the list of misery for Pune as they were reduced to 61/6 in 9.1 overs. Finally Kane Richardson and Bhuvneshwar Kumar showed some guts but that proved to be too little too late as Pune could manage to score 127/9 in 20 overs and thus lost the match by 37 runs.

Match 42 IPL 2013 –Pune Warriors vs Chennai Super Kings

Match 42 IPL 2013 –Pune Warriors vs Chennai Super Kings
Date – Tue Apr 30
Time – 8:00 pm i.e 14:30 GMT | 20:00 IST
Venue – Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium, Pune

Today in the 42nd match of Pepsi IPL Season 6, Pune Warriors India will take on Chennai Super Kings at the Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium. Both teams have played 9 matches so far but PWI and CSK have both played nine matches but the ranking in points table is totally opposite. Chennai Super Kings who sit comfortably on the first position will be hoping to sustain that position with a win today where as Pune who lying in bottom four will be hoping to change fortunes with this match.

Chennai who are on a roll will be once again relying on their batting power. With the likes of Michael Hussey who is the second top scorer in IPL 2013 and players like Raina, Dhoni and Brawo, Pune have a real difficult task at hand.

The biggest problem for Pune Warriors has been the lack of consistency by the top order. Only Aaron Finch has been consistent so far but has not got the support from others like Robin Uthappa and Yuvraj Singh.

The bottom line is that Pune have a real difficult task to beat Chennai but if their batting clicks, they can surely make CSK run for their money.
