Today in the 47th match of IPL 2013, Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to bat first. Ajinkya Rahane and Shane Watson opened the innings and added just 20 runs for the first wicket stand. Rahane was the first to fall and soon James Faulkner also got out leaving Royals at 27/2 in 4.3 overs. Shane Watson and Sanju Samson then steadied the innings and scored 35 and 40 receptively. Good bowling by KKR never allowed the Royal batsmen to free their hands and eventually they were able to post a total of 132/6 in 20 overs.

Chasing 133 to stay alive in the league, KKR got off to a decent start as Gautam Gambhir and Manvinder Bisla added 41 runs in 5.3 overs before Gambhir got out. Yusuf Pathan top scored with a 35 ball 49 which included 3 fours and 3 sixes followed by J Kallis who scored 33 off 30 balls. The duo made sure KKR stay alive in the tournament and thus helped their team register a comprehensive win by 8 wickets.

Abhinav Mukund and Chris Gayle scored 44 in just 4 overs before Gayle got out after scoring 34 in 16 balls. Abhinav Mukund was the next to fall as he was bowled by Trivedi for 19. RP Singh striked back and took the wicket of Shane Watson who scored 41 off 31 balls (3×4,1×6). The match was far from over as in the final over, Rajasthan needed 6 to win but Kumar got the wicket of dangerous Brad Hodge (32 off 18 balls) and Owais Shah was run out the very next ball to keep the RCB hopes alive. But Stuart Binny hit a four on the second last ball to take Rajasthan to a 4 wicket win.
