Rajasthan Royals defeated Delhi Daredevils comfortably by 7 wickets to remain in the top 4 teams in points table today.

Chasing 153 to win, Rajasthan Royals lost Ajinkya Rahane in the third over but Sanju Samson and Karun Nair showed brilliant batting skills to make sure that the team does not falter in the run chase. Sanju Samson scored 34 before getting out but he has done his job and took the team score to 71 in 10 overs. Karun and R Bhatia then took the team score past 100 run mark and placed their team in a comfortable zone. After the fall of Bhatia, captain Shane Watson made sure no more loss is incured by Royals and thus they won the match comfortably thanks to the superb innings of 73 off 50 balls by Karun Nair.

Earlier Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to field first. Delhi got off to a good start as openers added 33 runs in 4 overs before Vijay got out. Captain Pietersen and Quinton de Kock then took the team score past the 50 run mark. But a twin blow in the 10th over with both set batsmen getting out, reduced the scoring rate. Later some good hitting by JP Duminy and Kedar Jadhav helped Delhi post a total of 152/5 in 20 overs.

Result – Rajasthan Royals Beat Kolkata Knight Riders

In a sensational match which changed with every ball being bowled, Rajasthan Royals managed to sneak past to victory by defeating Kolkata Knight Riders on the basis of boundary count.

KKR played Super over with Pandey and Yadav where as Royals decided to go with Faulkner. On the very first ball, Yadav got run out. Pandey hit a six on the fourth ball but eventually KKR could post 11/2 in The Super Over.

Rajasthan Royals needed 12 to win and they chose Shane Watson and Steve Smith to play. KKR gave the ball to S Naraine. Royals could manage just 4 runs in first three balls and then Watson hit a four. Royals needed 3 to win on last ball. But as per other rule of IPL, if a match is tied in superover, then team hitting more boundaries will win. Steve Smith and Watson then showed presence of mind and scored 2 runs on last ball. Eventually they won the match on the basis of boundary count.

Needing 153 to win, Gambhir and Bisla added 21 runs in 3.4 overs before Bisla got out. Gambhir played sensibly today and scored 45 off 44 balls before getting out. Kallis also got a start and scored 13 before Tambe got his wicket. M Pandey then raised some hopes with a six and four but got out in that very over. S Yadav then played a superb cameo of 31 off 19 balls to bring KKR back in the hunt. KKR needed 16 off 12 balls but three wickets fell in the 19th over by Faulkner leaving KKR struggling at 141/7 in 18.5 overs. Shakib Al Hasan then came to the team rescue as he scored a brilliant 24 off 14 balls. KKR needed 3 to win off the last ball but Shakib managed to score a double and thus the match was tied.

Earlier Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to bat first. Openers A Rahane and KK Nair added 13 runs before Nair got out after scoring just 1. Rahane and Samson then steadied the Royals innings and took the team score past 100. Samson was the next to fall after scoring 20 off 19 balls. Rahane stood firm on one end and along with captain Shane Watson then took the team score past 100. Rahane scored a brilliant 59 balls 72 where as Shane Watson scored 33 in 24 balls before being run out. Finally Royals were able to post 152/5 in 20 overs.

Rajasthan Royals today bowled out Royal Challengers Bangalore for just 70 in 15 overs and won the match by 6 wickets. It was the third lowest total in the history of IPL. The fall of RCB started in the very first over as they lost both the openers in the very first over. All hopes were on Yuvraj and Kohli but twin strike in the third over in the form of Yuvraj and AB de Villers left RCB struggling at 5/4 in 5.2 overs. Virat Kohli was the leading scorer with 21 for RCB and only two other batsmen could touch double digit figures. RCB were looking at the lowest IPL total as they were struggling at 28/6 in 8.4 overs but Starc and Ravi helped them reach 70. Pravin Tambe took 4 wickets of just 20 runs and was adjudged man of the match.

Chasing 70 to win and move up the points table, Rajasthan Royal openers added 31 runs in 4.3 overs for the first wicket stand. Three quick wickets gave some scare to Rajasthan as Ajinkya Rahane , Sanju Samson and Karun Nair got out in quick succession leaving Rajasthan Royals at 36/3 in 6.3 overs. But Shane Watson and Abhishek Nayar then made sure the team does not enter the panic mode and the thus Royals were able to achieve the winning target in just 13 overs.
