Today in the 15th match of IPL 2013, Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat first. The star opening pair of Ricky Ponting and Sachin Tendulkar gave Mumbai a perfect start as the duo added 54 runs in just 7.1 overs for the first wicket stand. Sachin Tendulkar smashed a 29 ball 44 which included 7 fours and 1 six. After the fall of Ponting and Sachin, Dinesh Karthik along with Rohit Sharma continued the momentum and took the score to 115 before Karthik got out after scoring 41 off 29 balls.(4×4,1×6). But Rohit Sharma and Kevin Pollard maintained the scoring rate and helped Mumbai post a decent total of 183/3 in 20 overs. Chasing 184 to win, Pune got off to a disastrous start as they lost Aaron Finch on the very first ball. The middle order then showed some resistance but none of them were able to convert it into a high score. Yuvraj Singh, Tirumalsetti Suman and Angelo Mathews all fell after getting start and thus Pune were struggling at 89/6 in 12.2 overs. Mitchell Marsh’s cameo of 38 was not sufficient as Pune could manage to score 142/8 thereby loosing the match by 41 runs.
