Saurav Takes Kolkata Knight Riders To Victory Against Deccan Chargers

Result: Kolkata Knight Riders won by 24 runs

Saurav Ganguly won the toss and elected to bat first. Ganguly and Gayle opened the innings for Kolkata Knight Riders. Though Kolkata Knight Riders lost Gayle when the team score was just 15, Ganguly was today at his best on the other hand. Kolkata Knight Riders kept loosing wickets at regular interval but Saurav Dada stood firm on the other end. Saurav Ganguly (88 runs 54 balls 4*9, 6*5) showed his class today and proved why he is called the prince of Kolkata. Useful contributions from David Hussey, Pujaara and Saha helped KKR to post a total of 181/6 in 20 overs.

Chasing a total of 182 to win, Deccan Chargers lost Gilchrist early but Gibbs and Mishra steadied the innings and took the score to 77 when Mishra was eventually out. Gibbs and Symond then took the score past 100 and it looked like KKR’s would really have a tough time saving this match. But then again a twist came into match when KKR got two priced wickets of Gibbs and Rohit Sharma and Deccan Chargers were 137/4 in 17.2 overs. It was an impossible task for Deccan Chargers wo win this match as they needed 36 runs to win from last 9 balls and eventually they could make only 157/5 in 20 overs and thus lost the match by 24 runs.

Match 30 Kolkata Knight Riders vs Deccan Chargers Preview

Today in a must win situation, Kolkata Knight Riders will take on Deccan Chargers at Eden Garden. Deccan Chargers have lost the last match to Mumbai Indians and would thus be looking at this opportunity to get ahead in the points table. On the other hand Kolkata Knight Riders have also been through flip flops and are now in a must win position. This match between Dada’s KKR and Gilly’s DC would be a thrill packed entertainment for all cricket fans.

Warner Ton Ensures Delhi Daredevils Victory By 40 runs

Venue: Delhi
Date: March 29, 2010
Toss: Delhi Daredevils elected to bat
Result: Delhi Daredevils won by 40 runs

Delhi Daredevils after winning the toss elected to bat first at the Ferozshah Kotla in Delhi. Kolkata opened the bowling with Chris Gayle, which was a suprise move. Sehwag and Warner opened the innings for Delhi Daredevils. Sehwag scored two boundaries off Gayle and then Gayle took the revenge by getting the priced wicket of Sehwag. The gamble played off for KKR and the dangerous man was out for 8. Gambhir who was back from an injury also could not do much and got out for just 1. Karthik also failed and got out for a duck. But the star was David Warner. He smashed an unbeaten century, he was at his devastating best scoring 107 off just 69 balls.

Paul Collingwood playing in place of AB de Villiers also showed his class and scored a fifty. Both Warner and Collingwood helped Delhi Daredevils score a decent total of 177/4 in 20 overs.

Chasing 178 to win, Kolkata Knight Riders got to the worst possible start loosing three quick wickets. Mandeep Singh and Manoj Tiwary got out for duck leaving Kolkata Knight Riders 21/3 in 4.2 overs. Gayle did showed some hope to Kolkata Knight Riders team but was eventually out after scoring 30runs. David Hussey and Angela Mathews then got in a partnership but the required rate was rising at a very fast pace and reached 13.95 in the 14th over. Kolkata Knight Riders batsmen succumbed to the increasing run rate pressure and could manage only 137/9 in 20 overs and thus Delhi Daredevils won by 40 runs.

Match 26 Delhi Daredevils vs Kolkata Knight Riders

Match: 26th T20, IPL3
Venue: Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi
Date: March 29, 2010

Delhi Daredevils will take on Dada’s Kolkata Knight Riders today at Feroz Shah Kotla at 8pm IST. Kolkata Knight Riders are riding high with an emphatic win over Kings XI Punjab where as Delhi Daredevils are struggling to find the winning streak. Though they started off really well in this season but are now looking inconsistent due to injury concerns. The batting order is not doing well for them and thus Delhi Daredevils are now ranked 6th in the points table despite winning the last match against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders have also been shaky so far but both teams had won the last match respectively and it must have done wonders to the confidence of both teams. So we hope for a superb match today.

Kolkata Knight Riders Won By 39 runs Against Kings XI Punjab

Result: Kolkata Knight Riders won by 39 runs

After winning the toss, Kolkata Knight Riders decided to bat first. Ganguly and Gayle opened the innings for them. Saurav Ganguly started off well and it was high time that a high score was expected from Dada. Ganguly didnt let the fans down and went to score a 50 though Kolkata Knight Riders had lost two quick wickets of Gayle and Mandeep Singh. Manoj Tiwary and Ganguly got a good partnership going and took the score past 100. Ganguly got out after scoring a well deserved 50 runs off just 40 balls. But the star for Kolkata Knight Riders, was Manoj Tiwary who initially was playing steadily but rained terror on the Kings XI bowler in last few overs. He went on to score an unbeaten 75 off just 47 balls. It was his innings which helped Kolkata Knight Riders post a decent total of 183/5 in 20 overs.

Chasing a target of 184 to win, Kings XI Punjab opened the batting with Bopara and Yuvraj Singh. The only performer for Kings XI Punjab, Bopara got out on the third ball of the innings when even the team was not able to open its account. The scorecard read 0/1 and it was on the shoulders of Yuvraj and Bisla to get the team out of this situation. Kings XI Punjab needed more than 10 runs per over and with each over, this run rate was mounting. Though Yuvraj got a start but could not capitalize on it and got out after scoring 24runs. At the end of 6overs Kings XI Punjab were 42/2. Soon Bisla also got out leaving Kings XI Punjab 54/3 in 7.3 overs. The run rate was getting higher and higher and crossed the 12 runs per over mark soon. At the end of 12 overs, Kings XI Punjab were 82/3 still needing another 101 to win off just 48 balls. Wickets felt at regular interval and thus it was getting impossible for them to win and finally they lost the match by 39 runs
