Today is the second semi final of Indian Premier League Season -2 between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings. Chennai Super Kings are hot favorite but Royal Challengers Bangalore have proved they can not be taken lightly after storming to the semi finals by defeating Deccan Chargers who have already entered the final. The winner of the match would take on Deccan Chargers in the finals on Sunday 24, 2009.

Today was the first semifinal between Delhi Daredevils and Deccan Chargers. Deccan Chargers won the toss and elected to field first and this decision went hugely in the favor as Delhi Daredevils lost 2 wickets in the very first over. Sehwag, Dilshan and AB de Villers then helped them to recover and post a decent total of 153/8 in 20 overs. Dilshan was the highest scorer for Delhi Daredevils as he scored 65 runs. Chasing the total of 154 for a final berth, Gilly played a captions knock. He was at his devastating best and Delhi bowlers looked clueless. With the strike rate of 242.86, Gilchrist scored 85 runs off just 35 balls and took the match away from Delhi Daredevils. Though Delhi was considered favorites before the start of match but when we see an innings like this, favorites tend to change. Suman and Symonds supported and helped Deccan Chargers to cruise along easily and face the winner of second semi final winner on Sunday.

Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and elected to bat. This match was very important for Royal Challengers Bangalore as its outcome would decide who will go to semi finals – Royal Challengers Bangalore or Kings XI Punjab. So it was a must win match for Royal Challengers Bangalore and the way they approached it it was certain that they wanted to win it at all cost. Pandey was the man for Royal Challengers Bangalore today. He played a sensational innings of 114 runs of 73 balls and remained unbeaten till the end. Other batsmen though failed to support him but at last they were able to put 170/4 in 20 overs.

Deccan Chargers were in full control but at the score of 68 Gilchrist got out and Royal Challengers came back in the game. Mumbai Indians were asked to bat first after they lost toss to Delhi Daredevils. They lost the first wicket in the very first over. Tendulkar was the ray of hope for Mumbai Indians and he did played some excellent shots. His innings of 46 was studded with 8 fours. The only other batsmen who played a innings which tool Mumbai Indians to a respectable total was Rahane. He completed his half century and it was due to Sachin and Rahane that Mumbai Indians were able to post a total of 165/8 in 20 overs.

What a comeback by Sehwag!! Chasing the totall of 166 to win, Delhi Daredevils got to a flying start with Gambhir and Warner. But the problem did not ended when Warner was dismissed Sehwag came to the center and blasted every bowler for 27 ball 50. It was Gambhir and Sehwag who took the game away from Mumbai Indians who are already out but were playing for prestige.
