After wining the toss, Mumbai Indians elected to bat. Shikhar Dhawan and Sachin Tendulkar opened the innings for them. Today, the duo could not gave them the start they have been giving so far in IPL 2010 as Dhawan was bowled by Irfan Pathan for just 2. Mumbai Indians were 7/1 in 1.1 overs, A Rayudu and Sachin then played sensibly and took the team score past 50. Chasing the total of 155, Jayawardene and Adrian Barath gave them a quick start and took the score to 41 before Jayawardene got out. After the fall of first wicket, Sangakkara came to the center and took the charge. Adrian Barath and Sangakkara scored runs with ease and scored at 9 runs per over. Match 41 Kings XI Punjab vs Mumbai Indians Scorecard

Kings XI Punjab speedster S Sreesanth breached the Code of Conduct and was fined 20 per cent of his match fee. Match Refree Srinivas Venkataraghavan found him guilty to the level 1 offense which includes showing dissent at an umpire’s decision.

“Kings XI Punjab’s S Sreesanth has been fined for breaching the DLF Indian Premier League’s (IPL) Code of Conduct during his team’s match against the Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur,” read a statement from the IPL.

In the match against Rajasthan Royals, Sreesanth was no balled twice and the fuming bowler first clapped at opposing batsman Michael Lumb and then at the umpires.

Sourav Ganguly has been fined US $40,000 and the rest members of Kolkata Knight Riders US $10,000 each, due to slow over rate in the match against the Delhi Daredevils in Kolkata on Wednesday. They were two overs behind the required over rate.

“The Indian Premier League today advised that Kolkata Knight Riders have been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate during last night’s DLF IPL match against Delhi Daredevils in Kolkata,” read a statement from the IPL.

“Since it was Kolkata’s second offense of the season, under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over rate offenses, captain Sourav Ganguly was fined USD 40,000 and each player in the team USD 10,000,” the statement added.

Now if this offense is repeated the third time, Ganguly can face a ban for 1 match.

Match 40 of DLF IPL 2010 was played at Chinnaswamy Stadium between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Deccan Chargers. Deccan Chargers won the toss and elected to field. Deccan Chargers bowled excellently in the first ten overs and looked in total control of the match as Royal Challengers Bangalore could manage just 68 in 10 overs. Royal Challengers Bangalore then lost 3 quick wickets and were reduced to 68/4 in 10.1 overs and it looked that 150 would be hard to achieve. But highest run scorer in IPL season 3, J Kallis along with and Virat Kohli shared a 95 run fifth wicket partnership which changed the whole equation of the match. Kohli was at his blasting best today as he scored 58 off just 35 balls with 4 fours and 4 sixes.
