Match 7 IPL 2013 – Sunrisers Hyderabad Register Second Consecutive Win

Match 7 IPL 2013 –Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

Today in the 7th match of IPL 2013, Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and elected to bat first. Sunrisers bowlers could not have given the team a better start as they got rid of the most dangerous IPL player Chris Gayle for just 1. Tillakaratne Dilshan also got out soon leaving RCB at 22/2 in 3.4 overs. Captain Virat Kohli along with Moises Henriques steadied the RCB innings but the duo could not excel the run rate. After the fall of Kohli, RCB could not gain momentum as wickets started to fell at regular intervals. Finally RCB managed to post 130/8 in allotted 20 overs.

Chasing 131 to register their second win in two matches, Sunrisers Hyderabad lost Parthiv Patel in the second over. Soon Cameron White also got out leaving Sunrisers at 20/2 in 3.3 overs. Akshath Reddy and Hanuma Vihari then took the score to 48 at which Reddy got out leaving Sunrisers at 48/3 8.2 overs. Kumar Sangakkara then came to the center and scored 16 off 17balls before getting out and leaving Sunrisers at 81/4 in 13.4 overs. Hyderabad needed another 50 to win from 38 balls and though wickets kept falling from other end but Hanuma Vihari was firm on one end and his knock of 44 runs off 46 balls ensured that the match ended in a tie.

Super over was played to get the result. Sunrisers batted first and posted a total of 20 thanks to Cameron White’s 2 sixes in the super over. RCB had Gayle and Kohli in the center and despite hitting one six and four, RCB felt short and were able to score just 15 runs.

Today in the 7th match of IPL 2013, jubilant Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Both the teams will be coming tot his match with a win in their pocket as Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Mumbai Indians by 2 runs in a cliffhanger where as Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Pune Warriors India by a 22 runs.

Both teams would be hoping to continue the momentum and thus viewers can expect a real thriller today. The player to watch out for Sunrisers will be Chris Gayle where as RCB need to find the cure for Dale Steyn’s bowling.

Result – Sunrisers Hyderabad won by 22 runs

In the third match of Pepsi IPL 2013, Pune Warriors won the toss and decided to field first. Parthiv Patel and Akshath Reddy gave Sunrisers Hyderabad a decent start and scored 34 in 5.1 overs. All the top order batmen scored runs in double digits but none could make it large and thus with combined team effort, Sunrisers Hyderabad were able to post total of 126/6 in 20 overs

Chasing 127 to win, Pune Warriors started cautiously and added 36 runs for the first wicket stand. As soon as Robin Uthappa’s wicket felt, Pune lost the momentum and lost quick wickets in form of Marlon Samuels, Yuvraj Singh and Manish Pandey. From 36/1 in 6.5 overs they were reduced to50/4 in 11.2 overs. Ross Taylor and Abhishek Nayar then raised some hope but just when the duo started to look dangerous, Amit Mishra strikde and got the wicket of Nayar leaving Pune at 83/5 in 15.5 overs. Needing 44 to win from 24 balls, Ross Taylor also got out in the next over which brought captain Angelo Mathews on to the crease. The increasing required run rate pressure was too much for Pune and finally they were all out for 104 and thus lost the match by 22 runs.

First timers Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on Pune Warriors at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad today at 8pm. Kumar Sangakkara who was named the captain of Sunrisers will be hoping that his new team leaves a mark in their opening game and start their campaign with a win. The team looks good on paper but will they be able to deliver in field is yet to be seen.

On the other hand, Pune Warriors suffered a major setback when their captain M Clarke was ruled out of IPL. Under the captaincy of Angelo Mathews, the team has a daunting task but with players like Yuvraj Singh, Robin Uthappa, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Wayne Parnell, the team looks formidable both in batting and bowling department.
