Deccan Chargers captain Kumar Sangakkara was fined $20,000 for slow over rate against Pune Warriors in the match played last night.

Deccan Chargers were slow by one over after all allowances were considered and thus captain was fined as per IPL’s code of conduct.

A superb batting performance by Delhi Daredevils helped them beat Mumbai Indians by 37 runs.

Today in the 36th match of DLF IPL 2012, Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to field first. The decision proved costly as Delhi Daredevils got off to a flying start with M Jayawardene and V Sehwag adding 135 runs for the first wicket partnership in just 13.1 overs. The stage was all set for a huge total and even after the wicket of M Jayawardene (55 runs off 42 balls, 8×4), Sehwag and Kevin Pietersen hammered Mumbai bowlers. Sehwag was the next to get dismissed after scoring a brilliant 73 off 39 balls which included 8 fours and 4 sixes. Kevin Pietersen then started from where Sehwag left, he smashed 50 off just 26 balls(6×4, 3×6) and helped Delhi post a huge total of 207/5 in 20 overs.

Chasing 208 to win, Mumbai Indians got off to the worst possible start as they lost A Blizzard for a duck on the third ball of the innings. Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma then took the score to 19 when twin blow pegged Mumbai back as they lost both Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma and were reduced to 19/3 in 3.1 overs. D Karthik and A Rayudu then played some good shots and 96 run partnership brought Mumbai back on track for the run chase as they needed 93 from last 7 overs. Agarkar gave Delhi the much needed breakthrough as he bowled Karthik. With this wicket, the chances of Mumbai diminished and the twin blow in the 17th over ended all hopes and finally Mumbai got down struggling and lost the match by 37 runs.

Finally Deccan chargers were able to register their first IPL 2012 win as they defeated Pune Warriors by 18 runs, thanks to the superb batting performance by C White which helped DC post a total of 177/4 in 20 overs.

Today in the 35th match of DLF IPL 2012, Deccan Chargers won the toss and elected to bat first. Parthiv Patel and S Dhawan gave them a flying start before Dhawan was run out when the team score was 39. Soon Parthiv Patel also got out leaving Deccan Chargers at 50/2 in 6 overs.C White and K Sangakkara then steadied the innings and took the score to 83 when Sangakkara was bowled by Rahul Sharma. C White was firm on one end he continued to play superbly. He along with JP Duminy too DC total beyong 150. White was eventually dismissed after he scored a brilliant 78 runs of 46 balls which included 6 fours and 5 sixes. Duminy and Jaggi then scored some quick runs to get Chargers to 177/4 in 20 overs.

Chasing 178 to win, Pune Warriors lost J Ryder in the third over when the team score was just 15. Ganguly and M Pandey then took the score to 43 when M Pandey got out. Ganguly and R Uthappa then carried the Pune innings forward and just when it looked the duo is all set, S Ganguly lost his wicket when the team score was 73. At 73/3 in 9.5 overs, Pune needed a partnership but the wickets of R Uthappa and M Samuels felt in quick succession. From 73/3 Pune were struggling at 91/5 in 14 overs. Pune Needed 86 to win from last 6 overs and S Smith scored a quick fire 26 followed by good batting by Manhas and Thomas but the target was too far from the reach and thus Pune lost the match by 18 runs.
