In the next few days, many players would be leaving DLF – IPL tournament to play for there countries. The players who are supposed to leave are from Australia, New Zealand and West India players. “The international viewership of IPL from Asia, Middle East, the UK and the US so far can be estimated to be around 7-8 million people (per match),” said Venu Nair, president, South Asia, World Sports Group (WSG), the sports marketing and management agency that won the international media distribution rights of IPL from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Nair claims to have generated $100 million (Rs402 crore) by selling telecast rights to various companies across these markets. WSG has paid BCCI $1.026 billion for the next 10 years for these rights.

Survey reveals that one third of recent England players are tempted to switch to play in the Indian Premier League as the ECB remains in talks with Allen Stanford over series. A third of the players who have represented England recently have told the players’ union that they would consider retiring prematurely from international cricket to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and spend more time with their families. More than 50 other county cricketers have said that they would like to play in the unauthorized Indian Cricket League (ICL) in defiance of an ECB ban.

Kings XI defeated Mumbai Indians today in the 10 th match of DLF – IPL by 66 runs. Brett Lee was the one who started at a fiercing pace and got rid of Jayasurya first and then Ronchi was superbly run out. It was a nightmare for Mumbai Indians as they had never expected such a start in chasing the score which was easily achievable. But Kings XI Punjab’s bowlers did a splendid job and took wickets at regular interval. Piyush Chawla was the one who changed the game in 1 over by taking 2 wickets and giving just 4 runs. Pollock on the batting end was playing a responsible innings and was posing a threat to Kings XI Punjab but Yuvraj singh took a stunning one handed catch to get rid of him. Once Pollock went back to dressing room, it was a mere formality left. Run Rate needed was more than 25 per over when 3 overs were left and happiness could be easily seen on the faces of Kings XI team players.

Preity Zinta and Daler Mehndi were seen smiling, dancing and cheering the team. It was the first victory for Kings XI Punjab in DLF – IPL where as Mumbai Indians still have to wait for Tendulkar as well as the victory.

In the 10 th match of DLF Indinan Premier League Kings XI scored a decent score batting first.They scored 182 runs in 20 overs thanks to the Sri Lankan Batsmen KC Sangakkara who scored 94 runs in 56 balls. He become the highest scorer of the tournament and will wear the orange cap in next match.Kings XI Punjab lost the first wicket at a total of 8 but after that a good partnership between KC Sangakkara and K Goel took the score to 81 runs in 8.1 overs. Once Goel was out, wickets started to fell and the scoring rate was also on a decline.But KC Sangakkara was the only one who played a responsible innings and took the score to some what more respectable. In the last few overs, few hits to boundaries took the team score to a total of 182 runs.
