As per the press release by BCCI Secretary, the final of Pepsi Indian Premier League 2014 will now be played at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. Earlier it was Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai who were to host the finals.

In the 2014th edition of IPL, Kevin Pietersen was named as captain of Delhi Daredevils. Former England star was chosen as DD captain due to his superb T20 record. Though he missed the last edition due to injury but in 2012, he scored 305 runs at an outstanding average of 61.
“I feel incredibly honoured to have been asked to captain the Delhi Daredevils in this year’s IPL. I am very much looking forward to working alongside Gary Kirsten. We have a fantastic squad with a good blend of youth and experience and a brilliant coaching set up. We hope to bring our incredible fans a lot of happiness this season,” Pietersen said on his appointment as captain.
Delhi Daredevils have also named Dinesh Karthik as vice captain and Gary Kirsten as their coach for IPL 2014.

Due to general elections, the IPL governing body has decided to shift the first two weeks of Indian Premier League to United Arab Emirates. This season will commence from 16th April 2014 and the final will be played on June 1, 2014.
Reports say as many as 16 matches which are scheduled from Wednesday 16th April to Wednesday 30th April will be shifted to UAE and from 1st to 13th May, matches might move to Bangladesh if permission is not granted by Indian government. Remaining matches from May 13 will be played in India.
