Today in the 18th match of Pepsi IPL 2013, Royal won the toss and elected to field first. Kings XI Punjab got off to a disastrous start as they lost three main batsmen when the team score was just 10. Struggling at 10/3 in 3.3 overs, Kings XI Punjab desperately needed some to stand and deliver. David Hussey once again came to the team’s rescue as even when wickets kept falling at other end, he scored a brilliant 31 ball 41. Azhar Mahmood’s 23 was the second highest score by KXIP batsmen as Royal bowlers never allowed KXIP to settle. Finally KXIP were all out for 124 in 18.5 overs.

Chasing 125 to win, Shane Watson and Ajinkya Rahane gave them a flying start as the duo added 43 runs for the first wicket stand. Shane watson got out after scoring 32 off 19 balls. three quick wickets in the form of Captain Dravid, Stuart Binny and Brad Hodge gave some hope to Kings XI Punjab. But Ajinkya Rahane and Sanju Samson then played sensibly and took their team to a superb 6 wicket win.
