Delhi Daredevils won the toss and elected to bat first. The decision looked a bit hasty as they lost 2 quick wickets of Gambhir and Sehwag for just 15 runs. But then AB De Villers came to bat and changed the total scenario and took Delhi Daredevils out of the trouble. He played some very good shots and along with Dilshan took the score past 100. After Dilshan got out, Karthik came and played a cameo of 23 runs and thus helped Delhi Daredevils post a total of 150/3 in 20 overs.

In the process of increasing run rate, Jadega got out and Yusuf Pathan came to the center. As soon as Jadega fell, wickets started to fell in quick succession and Rajasthan Royals were reduced to 107/9.
