Today in the 54th match of IPL 2013, Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and elected to field first. M Vijay and Michael Hussey added 45 runs in 5.2 overs for the first wicket stand. Vijay was the first to fall as he got out after scoring 29 off 20 balls. His wicket brought Suresh Raina on to the crease and he along with M Hussey smashed every Sunrisers bowler out of park. Hussey scored a brilliant 42 ball 67 where as Suresh Raina’s 52 ball 99 not out helped CSK post a huge total of 223/3 in 20 overs.
Chasing 224 would never have been easy and Sunrisers felt the pressure right from the first ball. Man in form Shikhar Dhawan got run out when the team score was just 11. Parthiv Patel and Kumara Sangakkara then tried to steady the innings but the pressure of run rate got better of them as after the fall of captain Kumara Sangakkara, wickets started to fell as peck of cards. From 46/2 in 5.3 overs, Sunrisers slipped to 64/5 in 9 overs. Parthiv Patel was the highest run scorer for Sunrisers as he scoerd 44 off 30 balls followed by Karan Sharma’s 33 ball 39 knock but these proved to be too little to late and finally Sunrisers could manage to score just 146/8 in 20 overs and thus lost the match by a huge margin of 77 runs.
