Today in the 38th match of IPL 2013, Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and invited Chennai to bat first. Chennai opened with Wriddhiman Saha and Michael Hussey and the duo gave them a perfect start as they added 103 in 10 overs for the first wicket partnership. Saha got out after scoring 39 off 23 balls which included 4 fours and 2 sixes. But Michael Hussey continued the onslaught and was joined by Suresh Raina who smashed 44 in 25 balls (4×4,1×6). Michael Hussey scored 95 in just 59 balls which included 11 fours and 2 sixes and thus helped CSK post a good total of 200/3 in 20 overs.
Chasing 201 to win, Manvinder Bisla and Gautam Gambhir opened the innings for Kolkata Knight Riders. Gambhir fell after scoring just 14 but Bisla continued from where he left in the last match. KKR were hoping a good innings from Brendon McCullum but he failed as he got out after scoring just 6. J Kallis got a start and scored 19 before getting out leaving KKR at 99/3 in 12.2 overs. KKR needed another 102 off 7.4 overs and all hopes were on the duo of Bisla and Eoin Morgan. The duo played some excellent shots to take their team towards the winning target. 22 runs came of the 18th over and the game was wide open for both teams. Needing 29 to win from last 2 overs, Manvinder Bisla got run out bringing Chennai back in the game. Kolkata needed 19 to win from last over and it proved too much for them and a brilliant innings by M Bisla went in vain as they lost the match by 14 runs.
