Today in the 27th match of IPL Season 6, Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and elected to field first. Shane Watson and Ajinkya Rahane opened the innings for Rajasthan Royals but failed to give a solid start as Watson departed after scoring just 6 runs. Rahane also got out after scoring 14 and Royals were struggling at 26/2 in 5.2 overs. Once again captain Rahul Dravid came to his teams rescue, he along with Stuart Binny took the team score to 66 before S Binny got out after scoring quickfire 33 off 20 balls. With this wicket, RCB bounced back into the game and the bowlers ripped apart the lower middle order of Rajasthan. From 66/3 the Rajasthan Royals got all out for 117 in 19.4 overs.
Chasing 118 to win, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Chris Gayle opened the innings for RCB and gave them flying start as they scored 53 runs in 6.4 overs before Tillakaratne Dilshan got out after scoring 22 ball 25. Captain Virat Kohli also got out cheaply as RCB scorecard read 57/2 in 7.4 overs. AB De Villers was the next wicket to fall for RCB and it looked that Rajasthan Royals will jump back into the game. But Chris Gayle (49 off 44 balls 4×4, 1×6) and Saurabh Tiwary (25 off 29 balls 2×4, 1×6) then played sensibly and took their team to a superb 7 wicket win with 13 balls to spare.
