Yuvraj and AB de Villiers stunning batting display went to vain as Rajasthan Royals registered an emphatic win thanks to superb batting display by Karun Nair, Steven Smith and James Faulkner.

Chasing 191, Rajasthan Royals got off to a flying start as openers Ajinkya Rahane and Karun Nair added 54 runs in 7 overs. Ajinkya Rahane was the first to fall followed by Shane Watson and Stuary Binny. From 54/0 RR slipped to 63/3 in 9 overs and still needed 127 off 11 overs. Karun Nair and Steven Smith then came to team’s rescue and brought the team back into the run chase. Karun Nair scored a brilliant 39 ball 54 where as Steven Smith remained unbeaten on 48 in 21 balls. After the fall of Nair, RCB saw some ray of hope to come back into the game but James Faulkner wiped away their chances with a cameo of 41 in 17 balls with 3 sixes and 3 fours. Needing 21 to win off the last 2 overs, James Faulkner hammered Varun Aaron out of the park in the 19th over and finished the run chase with 7 balls to spare.

Earlier Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and elected to bat first. Captain Virat Kohli opened the innings with Chris Gayle. Virat Kohli got out in the third over leaving RCB at 6/1. Gayle and Vijay Zol took the score to 38 when Gayle got out soon followed by Zol. RCB were struggling at 40/3 in 8.1 overs and needed a special innings from Yuvraj and AB de Villiers. The duo were at their devastating best today as they hit fours and sixes with ease. Yuvraj Singh scored a brilliant 38 ball 83 which included 7 fours and 7 sixes where as AB de Villiers contributed 58 off 32 balls with 1 four and 5 sixes. It was due to the superb batting by these two that RCB were able to post a total of 190/5 in 20 overs.
