Though they had to chase a mammoth target of 241 in 20 overs, it never looked they were in any sort of problems.Punjab Kings started of brilliantly and scored at a very good rate and were well placed at 56/1 at the end of 5.5 overs. It was the turn of Hopes to show some hard hitting after Hussey’s show and Hopes scored a fast 71 runs in just 33 balls. Amarnath got rid of Hopes and some hopes for Chennai Super Kings were raised. But Kumara Sangakkara along with Yuvraj Singh had some different plans and the duo punished every bowler and took the score to 141/2 in 13 overs

The match was evenly poised at this stage and Punjab Kings required 100 runs from 42 balls.Now the twist started when Yuvraj Singh mis timed a shot and was catch out when the score was 153.Kumara Sangakara was the only hope left for Punjab King and when he was out on 190 it was almost all over.
