Today in the 30th match of DLF IPL 2012, Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to field first. Chris Gayle fell sick just before the start of the match and thus V Kohli and T Dilshan opened the innings for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Kohli once again disappointed everyone and got out after scoring just 16 runs. M Agarwal was the next batsmen in and he along with T Dilshan took the team score to 60 in 9.4 overs before getting out. Gayle was the next batsmen in but he got out after scoring just 4 runs off 8 balls. RCB were struggling at 67/3 in 11.4 overs and it looked Rajasthan Royals will limit them to a modest total. But T Dilshan and AB de Villiers were in no mood to spare the Rajasthan bowlers as the duo hammered every bowler for runs. They added 122 runs in 8.2 overs, AB de Villiers was particularly at his devastating best as he scored 59 off just 23 balls which included 3 fours and 5 sixes. T Dilshan also scored a brilliant 76 off 58 balls which included 10 fours and a six, Finally Royal Challengers Bangalore were able to post a decent 189/3 in 20 overs.
Chasing 190 to win, Rajasthan Royals got off to a good start with Rahul Dravid and A Rahane scoring 56 runs in 7.1 overs before Rahane got out. This brought the man in form for Rajasthan, Owais Shah to the crease and he along with Dravid played some good shots. Just when he started to look dangerous for RCB, K Appanna got his wicket and in the same over he got the wicket of S Goswami. Soon Dravid also became the victim of K Appanna after scoring 58 runs. RR needed 98 to win from 6 overs but after Dravid’s wicket, none of the RR batsmen could able to score runs and wickets started to fell at regular intervals. Finally Rajasthan Royals could manage just 143/7 in 20 overs therefore losing the match by 46 runs.
