The incomparable wicket keeper batsmen Adam Gilchrist wishes he could perform the duties of an adopted son when he plays in the Indian Premier League. “It’s interesting you drew the parallel. The move to Western Australia gave my international cricket a move-on and it’s very exciting now to be part of this experience in its inaugural year. To play the adopted son is something I really look forward to and I really hope to draw on this experience,” said Gilchrist in a chat with ToI here.

“I don’t want to put a figure on that but I do feel that this tournament will give the players a greater earning capacity. More importantly, the health of the game overrides every other aspect of this tournament. This is a new avenue and it needs to be fully understood by players and administrators before we sit in judgment. I would rather have T20 fitting nicely with Test and One-dayers, but that said I also believe that players with no desire in the heart to excel will stand to lose more than they gain.”

The third match of Indian Premier League was a one sided match and Delhi Daredevils beat Rajasthan Royals convincingly by 9 Wickets. Chasing a small target of 130, Delhi DareDevils never had any problem.The Duo of Sehwag and Gambhir opened the innings and Sehvag was out when the team score was 20.

After that there was no looking back and the duo of Gambhir and Dhawan assured that Delhi DareDevils easily win the match. Both of them scored half centuries and had a partnership of 112 runs in 81 balls. Delhi Daredevils won the match by 9 Wickets in 15.1 overs.

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and decided to bat first. The start was not what they had expected as they lost Kohli when the team score was 17.The team had not even recovered that another jolt was given. Yousaf was run out with the team score of 27. From that onwards, Rajasthan Royals were not able to recover the initial shocks and the wickets continued to fell at regular interval. With Lehman , Kaif , Watson back to the pavilion at 57/5 it was clear that Delhi Daredevils had not too high score to chase.

A small resistant was offered by the lower middle order and they scored singles, doubles to take the score to a respectable 129 in the alloted 20 overs. One of the reason for low score was the excellent fielding of Delhi DareDevils. Two batsmen were run out and more than 20 runs were saved due to excellent fielding.
