Today in the 33rd match of Pepsi IPL 2013, Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and elected to bat first. Yusuf Pathan and Gautam Gambhir scored 27 runs before Pathan got out after scoring 19 off 6 balls. KKR were 271 in 1.1 overs. Gautam Gambhir and Jacques Kallis then took the team score past 50. Gambir was the next to fall as he scored 26 off 20 balls before falling to Ojha. Kallis and Manoj Tiwary scored 37 and 33 respectively. It was a collective team effort as every batsmen contributed to the team score. In the end Eoin Morgan’s 25 ball 21 helped KKR post 159/6 in 20 overs.

Chasing 160 to win, Dwayne Smith and Sachin Tendulkar opened the innings and scored 29 in 4.5 overs before Birthday Boy Sachin was bowled by Narine when he was on just 2 to spoil the party. Dwayne Smith continued his onslaught as he smashed KKR bowlers to all corners of the park. Dinesh Karthik also fell cheaply as he scored just 7. Needing 78 to win from last 10 overs, Mumbai were riding on D Smith’s innings but in the 11th over Dwayne Smith got out after scoring 62 off 42 balls(3×4,5×6). Rohit Sharma and Kevin Pollard then continued from where Smith left. Rohit Sharma scored 34 off 28 balls which included 1 four and 2 sixes before getting out when the team score was 132. Kevin Pollard and Ambati Rayudu then took Mumbai Indians inches away from win win Pollard got out. Harbhajan singh smashed a six and then Rayudu hit a four to take Mumbai towards a 5 wicket win.

Today in the 32nd match of IPL Season 6, Kings XI Punjab won the toss and invited Delhi to bat first. Delhi Daredevils again opened with Mahela Jayawardene and Virender Sehwag with a hope to repeat last match’s heroics but Parveen Kumar got the wicket of Mahela Jayawardene in the very first over to reduce Delhi to 4/1 in 0.4 overs. Roelof van der Merwe also got out after scoring just 8 and left Delhi at 22/2 in 3.2 overs. Sehwag then played some good shots and just when he started to look dangerous, Harmeet Singh got his wicket.Sehwag departed after scoring 23 off 21 balls and Delhi were struggling at 45/3 in 7 overs. David Warner and Manprit Juneja then took the team score to 84 when Harmeet striked twice and got the wicket of Manprit and Kedar Jadav and left Delhi struggling at 85/5 in 13.5 overs. Johan Botha also out after scoring just 1 and Delhi were in all sorts of troubles as they were 6 down for just 89 on board. David Warner was the only hope for them but he also got out after scoring 40 off 36 balls. Finally Delhi were able to post 120/7 in 20 overs.

Chasing 121 to win, Adam Gilchrist once again failed to give KXIP a good start as he got out after scoring just 6 runs. Mandeep Singh and Luke Pomersback then took the team score to 50 before Luke got out after scoring 18 in 10 balls. Mandeep Singh also got out on the very next ball leaving KXIP at 50/3 in 4.5 overs. Manan Vohra also got out after scoring 8 and KXIP were reduced to 70/4 in 9.2 overs. Last match hero David Miller and David Hussey then took control of the situation and took the team inches away from victory when Hussey got out after scoring 20 off 21 balls. Today in the 31st match of Pepsi IPL 2013, Pune Warriors won the toss and invited Royal Challengers Bangalore to bat first. They had no clue of the Gayle Storm which were to attack them. Chris Gayle and Tillakaratne Dilshan added 167 runs in 13.4 overs for the first wicket stand before Tillakaratne Dilshan got out after scoring 33. Gayle completed the fastest hundred in just T20 format as it took him just 30 balls to reach 100. Chris Gayle remained unbeaten on 175 off 66 balls and thus RCB posted a huge total of 263/5 in 20 overs.

Chasing an impossible target of 264, Pune Warriors got off to the worst possible start as they lost Robin Uthappa on the second ball of the innings when the scorecard read zero. Most successful Pune batsman, Aaron Finch also got out in the 5th over soon followed by Luke Wright and Yuvraj Singh. Pune were struggling at 42/4 in 5.4 overs before Steven Smith and Mitchell Marsh steadied the innings and took the score to 100. The run rate was far above the achievable mark and Pune batsmen in an attempt to get even close to it kept failing. Steven Smith top scored with 41 but the target was way to much and finally Pune could manage to score just 133/9 and thus lost the match by 130 runs.
