Sourav Ganguly has been fined US $40,000 and the rest members of Kolkata Knight Riders US $10,000 each, due to slow over rate in the match against the Delhi Daredevils in Kolkata on Wednesday. They were two overs behind the required over rate.
“The Indian Premier League today advised that Kolkata Knight Riders have been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate during last night’s DLF IPL match against Delhi Daredevils in Kolkata,” read a statement from the IPL.

Toss: Kolkata Knight Riders elected to bat Result: Kolkata Knight Riders won by 14 runs
Today in the 39th match of DLF IPL 2010, Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and elected to bat first. They got to a superb start with Ganguly and Gayle posting 94 runs for the first wicket partnership. Ganguly continued the good form and scored 56 runs to lay a solid platform for KKR to post a huge total. But once Gayle and Ganguly were out, the run rate dipped but Angela Mathews and M Tiwary took the charge and scored some quick runs to reach the total of 181/3 in 20 overs.
Chasing the target of 182, Delhi Daredevils got to a poor start as they lost superstar D Warner for a duck. But Gambhir and Sehwag then steadied the innings and got a 99run partnership. Sehwag was in full flow and it looked, KKR will have a real problem in curtailing the run flow. But then Gambhir was run out by Ganguly and a dangerous looking partnership ended. This was the opportunity that Kolkata Knight Riders wanted. Once this partnership broke, Delhi Daredevils lost the way and wickets started falling like pile of cards. With each wicket, the pressure of run rate was mounting and finally Delhi Daredevils succumbed to the pressure and could score only 167/8 in 20 overs. This victory by 14 runs kept Kolkata Knight Riders chances for the semis alive.

Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and decided to bat first. C Gayle and S Ganguly opened the innings for KKR. Both started off really well and took the score to 56 before Ganguly got out after scoring 36. Once Ganguly got out, the run rate started to dip. Powar bowled a wonderful spell of 4 overs and it looked KKR will not be able to score more than 150. But then Gayle unleashed and took the charge. In one over from Bopara, he got 32 runs and changed the whole equation of the match. Gayle scored a brilliant 88 off just 42 balls (4*6 6*8). A useful innings by Tiwary. Hussey and Mathews then helped KKR post a hgue total of 200 runs in 20 overs.
Kings XI Punjab needed 201 to win and gift a smile to Priety Zinta, as they had lost 7 of the 8 matches played so far.
