Anil Kumble, former Indian Team and Royal Challengers captain has opted out of the player auctions for the 4th edition of the Indian Premier league after citing involvement in cricket administration as the reason. He said “I wish to withdraw from the players auction for IPL IV scheduled for the 8th and 9th of January 2011 in Bangalore.”

He further added ” I have enjoyed my stint at the IPL so far and thank all concerned for the support extended,”

It should be noted that Anil Kumble was not retained by the RCB franchise.

Indian Premier League commonly known as IPL has already witnessed many changes since the ouster Lalit Modi but it looks thats not enough for the franchises as many heavy weight cricket stalwarts were not retained by the respective franchises.

Cricket stalwarts Gautam Gambhir, Sourav Ganguly, Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman will go under the hammer again as they were were not retained by their franchises for 2011 and 2012 Indian Premier League

Deccan Chargers have not retained even a single player, this means even the captain Adam Gilchrist along with VVS Laxman, Rohit Sharma and Herschelle Gibbs are all available in auction to be held in January

Delhi Daredevils have left out Gautam Gambhir, Daniel Vettori, Tillakaratne Dilshan AB de Villiers.

Only Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings have retained the maximum allowed number of players that is four. But Mumbai has dropped Zaheer Khan which came as a shocker to many fans.

The champs of IPL season 1, Rajasthan Royals finally had some reprieve as the arbitration panel had stayed the expulsion for six weeks.

On October 20, BCCI had terminated the franchisee agreements with Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals citing violation of the terms of agreement. Rajasthan Royals challenged this in Supreme Court and thus a panel was appointed to look further into this matter.

Pakistani players may miss Indian Premier League season 4 as BCCI has yet to come up with a decision on this matter. With just a month left for auction of players, the future of Pakistani Players still hand in balance as no consensus has been attained yet.

“The auction is still a month away and we have time. We will discuss this issue and take a decision at our next governing council meeting,” BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla told Geo Super channel on Tuesday.

As per some reports, some franchises have already started talking with Pakistani players but the ball is in BCCI’s court and they have to wait till final orders.
