A total of 24 players have been retained by the IPL teams for the upcoming season 7 of IPL 2014. Out of these 24, 14 Indian and 10 overseas players were retained.

In a disappointing news which came from Mumbai team camp, fans may miss the action in field by master blaster Sachin as he has not fully recovered from his wrist injury.

Sachin who had already missed the qualifier due to injury will take the final call just before the match. Mumbai management wants the master to be the part of this very important game as it will be first time Mumbai looks so determined to win the IPL trophy.

The final decision to include Sachin in playing XI will be taken just before the match and all the Sachin fans will be praying for his speedy recovery so that they can see the GOD of Cricket in action tomorrow at the Eden Garden.

In adding to the ongoing woes for brand IPL, The Sahara India Group decided to pulled their IPL team, Pune Warriors India, out of the Indian Premier League. The decision was taken after BCCI decided to encash the bank guarantee of team as the franchise was unable to pay the franchisee fee.

This encashment and attiture of BCCI angered Sahara management so much that they have decided not to rejoin the team even if BCCI waives off the entire franchise fee.

“We would not keep the IPL franchisee even if the entire franchisee fee is waved off. It is firm and final decision of Sahara to withdraw from IPL,” the Sahara Group said in a detailed statement.

The relationship between Sahara and BCCI went sour even before the start of this season. Sahara had bought the franchise at a whopping price of Rs 1700 crore in 2010 as the calculations at that time were done according to 94 IPL matches. But the actual number of matches were less than 94 and thus Sahara pleaded with BCCI to reduce the franchise fee. Even after regular requests, BCCI never paid any heed and thus today Sahara India decided to quit from IPL.

Following are the teams which have qualified for the playoffs.

2) Mumbai Indians
3) Rajasthan Royals
4) Sunrisers Hyderabad

And these will take on each other at the Feroz Shah Kotla as follow:-
Match 73 Qualifier-1 – Chennai Super Kings v Mumbai Indians
Match 74 Eliminator – Rajasthan Royals v Sunrisers Hyderabad

The looser of the first qualifier will have a match against the winner of eliminator and the winner will then take on the winner of qualifier1.
