Today in the 35th match of IPL 2013, Kings XI Punjab won the toss and elected to bat first. KXIP were well placed at 67/2 in 9.3 overs. Some good bowling by KKR bowlers stopped the flow of easy runs and KXIP batsmen could feel the pressure. All the middle order batsmen got starts but none could convert it into a big score. A cameo of 28 in 15 balls which included 2 fours and 2 sixes by Gurkeerat Singh finally helped KXIP post a total of 149/6 in 20 overs.
Chasing 150 to win, Manvinder Bisla and Gautam Gambhir opened the innings for KKR but the twin blow in the second over by Mahmood broght them on back foot. Gautam Gambhir and Yusuf Pathan got out on consecutive balls to leave KKR struggling at 10/2 in 1.3 overs. Manvinder Bisla and Jacques Kallis then steadied the KKR innings as the duo added 66 runs in 9.1 overs to take KKR total of 76 before Kallis got out after scoring 37 in 33 balls. Manvinder Bisla stood firm on other end and along with Eoin Morgan played sensibly. Eoin Morgan was typically severe as he scored 42 in 26 balls which included 3 fours and 4 sixes and took the team towards victory. Bisla also completed his half century and remained unbeaten on 51 off 44 balls and took his team to a 6 wicket win over Kings XI Punjab.
