Chennai Super Kings won the toss and elected to bat first. They got to an excellent start and Knight Riders bowlers were smashed to all corners. The excellent start was thrown away as Chennai Super Kings lost both openers due to run outs. But this did not deter them from playing aggressive strokes. Raina and Dhoni then took the charge and played exceedingly well to help team get past the 150 run mark.
