In the battle between icons, Ganguly’s Knight Riders never gave Chennai Super Kings respite with some tight bowling. Today at Eden’s, CSK won the toss and elected to bat first. M Vijay and Hayden started the CSK innings but Hayden was bold by Ishant Sharma and CSK lost the first wicket in 4th over. Knight Riders never allowed Chennai Super Kings to score freely in initial overs. But the onslaught by Dhoni helped CSK score a decent score of 164/3 in 20 overs
Dhoni and Badrinath steaded the innings though initially at a much slower run rate but once they crossed the 15th over, both batsmen started scoring freely. Dhoni was at his blistering best and scored 66 runs in just 33 balls which included 6 fours and 3 sixes.
