A superb performance by Yuvraj Singh and AB de Villers helped Royal Challengers Bangalore Beat Delhi Daredevils by 16 runs.
Chasing 187 to win, Delhi Daredevils got off to a disastrous start as they lost both openers when the team score was just 10. At 10/2 in 2 overs, Delhi needed a partnership and Mayank Agarwal and captain Kevin Pietersen took the charge to keep the match alive. The duo added 63 runs in 7.2 overs after which which Mayank got out. In the 12th over, Chahal got the priced wicket of Kevin Pietersen and in the very next over Dinesh Karthik got out. With these wickets down, the only hope for Delhi were Jean-Paul Duminy and Kedar Jadhav. Duminy did raise some hopes with the cameo of 48 in 30 balls but with his fall in the 18th over, Delhi were virtually out of the game. Thought Kedar Jadhav also played a cameo of 37 in 20 balls but still Delhi fell short of the target by 16 runs.
Earlier Delhi Daredevils won the toss and elected to field first. Chris Gayle and Parthiv Patel opened the RCB innings and added 33 in 5.2 overs after which Gayle got out. Virat Kohli was run out for just 10 and RCB were placed at 45/2 in 8.1 overs. Patel and AB de Villiers then entertained the crowd and at the score of 94, Patel got out after scoring 22. Yuvraj Singh was the next to come in and he was at his devastating best today. The stylish left hander hit 9 sixes in his 29 ball 68 to help RCB post a total of 186/4 in 20 overs.
