Today in the 60th match of IPL 2013, Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and elected to field. Cheteshwar Pujara and Chris Gayle opened the innings for RCB but the duo failed to give them a good start as Pujara got out when the team score was just 15. Captain Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle then took the score to 46 before Kohli was bowled by Kallis. Chris Gayle remained the top scorer for RCB with 33 off 36 balls. Kolkata bowlers never allowed RCB batsmen to free their arms and some real good bowling on a slow pitch finally restricted RCB to 115/9 in 20 overs.

Chasing 116 to win, KKR lost Manvinder Bisla on the second ball of the innings when the team score was 0. Gautam Gambhir and Jacques Kallis then took the score to 31 before Gambhir got out after scoring 14 off 15 balls. J Kallis played superbly for his 45 ball 41 and was supported by Yusuf Pathan and Manoj Tiwary from the other end. Even though the target was small, RCB made sure KKR has to sweat it out. Finally in the 20th over, KKR managed to hit the winning run and thus won the match by 5 wickets, making it hard for RCB to move in to the playoffs.
